i ordered 6in front lift springs for my 87 k5 from super lift (plan on doing shackle flip for back but havnt gotten there yet) and i went to install them today (ive installed leaf spring lifts before on other vehicles) and ran into a couple of problems i didnt see coming (i thought i was going from a 4-5inch custom lift to a real 6inch lift, but im thinkin i had like a 2-4inch lift on it) 1 being the brake lines, do i need extended brake lines for 6inchs or no? and 2 being steering, do i need a special steering arm or what ever that horse shoe shaped thing is, and if theres anything else on it im going to hit i havnt yet let me know, axel is 100% dropped from vehicle except drive shaft and steering arm, i was planning on droppin the old leafs tonight and putting on the new springs tomm when i got the bushings, but by the looks of things it will take a lot longer and it is currently my DD so any help very appreciated. thanks

u will need longer brake lines, a good way is to get braided stainless lines, but a cheap way that i still have r stock front 2wd lines, they are longer then the front 4wd ones and cheaper then stainless. and u do need a new raised steering arm (horse shoe thing)...thats a fun job to get off on most trucks. if u search u can find the tricks on how to get that off. o ya, and u have to grind down ur front shaft a bit in the CV...search about that also.

if you go with the 2wd lines make sure you get them from a 88-98 style truck:D
dont forget new ubolts either.

cool so i got more fun ahead then i thought lol, ill probably just get new stainless steel ones, whats a good site to buy the lines and arm and all at? only place i found that sells just the parts and brake lines is roughcountry.com, is there a better or cheaper site? thanks guys

i no u said ur going with stainless..which i need to do also lol but just for anyone else that might look at this in the future, the 2wd lines i have on my truck are from a '85 c30...so i guess both generations will work.
