Just purchased a 1984 jimmy. Well every since I got it have had hell with wiring And gauges. Anyone who has time to help me. Would be appreciated. [email protected].

You need to post your specific problems to get answers. If you need wiring diagrams and know how to read them then they are available for the asking ... I know someone here has them.

Well head lights flicker. Left turn signal light on dash stays on and blinkers flash fast. No fuel gauge. Wipers only work on high. And vacuume lines that are not connected. Honestly it's a mess.

For the turn signals, Fast Flashing and indicator light staying solid are both symptoms of a burnt bulb. check all the bulbs, make sure they are seated properly and the sockets are clean

For the fuel gauge make check the ground at the fuel tank. Do this by connecting a wire to bare metal on the frame and bare metal to any place on the gas tank (I prefer the bent lip on the corner seam so rust won’t be an issue).

For the flickering headlights get your alternator checked.

Alternator is new. It's a wiring issue. Wiring is mess. I have 4 wires coming from tank. Only 2 are connected. Right now it reads past full. Then I got a red wire running along frame from front and if you connect it to ground it makes it drop past e. Connecting it to any other wire and it throws fuse. Also have a connection hanging by trans that doesn't go to anything I found yet. Also has a 1994 steering column in it with a purple yellow not connected and black wire ( with weird connection) looks like a small key.

Bad grounds on the tail or parking lamps can cause the flasher issues, and the dash indicator staying lit..or a bulb that has a filament broken and its touching the other one on the turn signal bulbs.

But--Seeing the steering colum is not original it could be due to that too,the wiring may plug into your older harness ok,but the wires may be in different spots on the connector,if it did ..your 84 had a floor mounted dimmer switch, the later steering colum would have the high beams & everything on the "stalk" switch & directional switch..including the windshield wipers..
I imagine the later colum has much to do with your electrical woes..

The sending unit for the gas tank usually has only two wires, one goes to the sending unit rheostat inside the tank, the other is a ground to the frame..
This link has some good troubleshooting methods for the gas gauges & sending unit..

The alternator being new, doesn't guarantee that it is good. You could have a bad regulator and a bad charge wire or trigger wire.
The quality of parts anymore is not always good.

Light problem was the ground. Got that fixed. Blinkers still blink fast tho. Fuel pump has a grey, purple, black, black white wires. Gray and black are connected.

The 4 wires on the tank are from a fuel injection tank 2 wires for the electric pump and 2 for the gauge.
For the blinker if the front had 4 bulbs, side and front, and your truck only use 2 then it will go fast.
You can use a different flasher to go slower

Grey is 12V for the fuel pump. Purple is the sending unit. Black is ground (used by both the sending unit and pump). Don’t know why you have a black/white.
