Help with part ID....what is this thing?

It's off a homemade log splitter that my work bought. It was working great and then stopped. I found this little wire was not connected to whatever this is anymore. Tried to solder it but still got nothing. I believe it has something to do with the fuel pump but I could be wrong.

and this is the part I believe to have caused the problem. That small wire was attached but once I got the thing apart it wasn't attached anymore

This is where it came of and was attached to the motor.

the only casting number I could find on the engine.

It's a "Red Hat" ASCO brand, solenoid valve .

I've seen them used on a lot on industrial machinery .
The part left on the engine is the valve body & the part you took off with the wire is the coil assembly.

Your coil on your asco valve is missing one of the wires. Should say what voltage it is on it when looking for a replacement. Makes a difference if it is an ac or a dc coil also.
