Ok so I have been thinking about - dare I say - lowering my truck about 2". Currently it has a 4" Tuff country Ez-ride all spring lift and a 2" body lift. I my truck hardly sees dirt anymore and what it sees could be done easily on stock suspention. My thoughts are that it'll make the truck more streetable with 33" all terrains as opposed to my current 35" muds. It'll also tow better not being so high in the air. And maybe it'll ride better?

So should I just leave it be or swap out the 4" springs for 2" ones and put on a set of 33s?

Here's a current pic for reference:

My M1009 was stock height, with 33's, and it worked just fine for just about anything I wanted to do with it, but really all I did was pavement and a few trips to trails in GWNF. Even then, as soon as I got to even mild rocks the trip was over, just not enough gear/tire. Ive always felt that these trucks just look right with a 4in lift and 35's. or stock with 33's. I think a 33in tire under even a 2in lift would look just a bit odd. just not enough tire. But thats just me.

i think it looks great the way it is, but i also love the look of stepsides with a 4" lift and 33s. and if i was you i would ditch the body lift and keep the 4" springs.

I'd throw some zero rates and a longer shackles and throw some 37" under it.............

I'd ditch the 2" body lift and leave the 4" springs and run the 35s, great look. You may need to trim the inside lips of the front fenders but it's nothing that's noticeable. Just be careful pulling into driveways/parking lots until you get an idea of what you can drive over before you hear rubbing.

Lose the body lift. Get a set of all terrain 35s. Then just drive the piss outta that purdy truck of yours! :waytogo:

With the current setup the tires will eat the fenders without the body lift. I hate cut fenders, it seems hack to me. Besides I like the extra clearance around the frame and body the body lift gives me.

Sorry, that's not what I meant. I hate cutting sheet metal too especially on nice looking trucks. I was referring to the inside corners that you can't see on the fenders.

Stop it. Go spend money on something else that isnt as perdy :D

Lowering it a couple inches and going to 33s isn't really going to make much of a difference in driveability.

An all terrain tire or even a street tread will make more of a difference

Stick with what you got, and buy some 35in A/Ts. I think hacked fenders in the name of low CoG is ugly IMO. Iv always liked the taller more between the fender and the tire look. Looks cleaner to me.

Drop the body lift, slap some zero rates in, get some 35" all terrains. I had this exact setup, it rode and handled BETTER than stock. Only rubbed when flexed way out, like 3 wheelin' flex. It looked nice, I think. Check back in my project burt build thread if you want a couple reference pictures.

Ditch the body lift for proper sized springs and put some gnarly 38" tires on there

Lower it and sell the 4 inch springs cheap and local

2-3 inch springs no body lift and 33's. Looks fine that way. Or ditch the muds and do the 35" bfg allterrains 2" springs and your 2" BL if you dont wanna lose that. The bfg AT's wont require the trimming with 4 " total lift. at most a little bending of the backside lip where it will never be seen

i think it looks bad ass how it is now. :D either way tho they truck will look good

Loose the body lift and do the 35" at's, I think that would make it streetable enough

Why so much hate on the 2" BL ?????? 1" or 2" is actually pretty nice you don't get the gaps and you also get more clearance around drivetrain components.

My reasoning is its the "easiest" thing to eliminate to go lower. It also won't change anything about your driveline if you pull it.

I love body lifts. Makes it easier to wash, pull trannys, clock tcase without floor mods, cheap extra ground clearance. I run a 3in and don't have one negative effect to speak of.
