i still miss him
and here is the destroyer
he was 7 months old then. GOTTIE the destroyer.
I've got a Rottie too, Gabriel. He's a 108lb. baby
beutiful dog. rotts are THE best dog there is.they are smart, they love you till death(iknow all dogs seem that way),they scare most bad people away, and they just look cool. i will have another one.
MILO was 145lbs and his sister peanut was 95 lbs.after i looked at MILOS pic i almost started crying again.
Thanks for posting these.. Rots are pretty. are they laid back, or high strung? I've never been around one.
My neighbors had a Rot that was the absolute nicest dog on Earth. On the other hand, when I used to work at a vet, we got some real basket cases. One chewed my cousin's hand half off when it was in for a checkup. Another one would nip at you every time you took her for a walk or approached her in any way but that's because she was abused when she was younger. For the most part I'd say they're laid back. I like 'em.
HOLY COW, another rope dog! Gabe goes through a BIG rope toy in about two weeks. He loves to take the ones with big knots in 'em and beat the crap out of anything he gets close to. The vet has him tagged as a biter, but that's the only person he's ever showed an ounce of aggression to, and that's only if they do something he doesn't like. He loves most of the girls in their office.
Most rots that i have seen are nice but scary and bark to stangers alot but guess that is normal to most dogs. Just the little ones we got just ain't scary. But all the rots that I know once they know you are overgrown babies.
they are beautiful dogs... to me, the epitomy in what a dog should look like.. i grew up thinking that about sheperds, till i discovered rotties in the early 80's.. got my female Raven in 84. way before anyone knew what they where..
there is a distinct difference between the males and females in a number of ways.. females are prettier with the longer nose usually.. every female i've ever seen was a pussycat.. very motherly and well mannered.. mine was.. she MIGHT attack a burgler at 3 am, maybe.. also not frequent barkers, usually just a few roars here and there.
males on the otherhand, CAN be difficult and can test an owners patience and will. very strongwilled.. anyone i've seen that was nasty, was usually a male. and as always, a dog is only as good as its owner..
thats true you have to show them your the boss.up until MILO was two he would challenge me like a young male lion. trying to be the alpha male. after he figured out i was big daddy, he was so cool.VERY loyal and didn't chew stuff looking for attention. GOTTIE the destroyer on the other hand had to learn the hard way. he wrecked about $3000.00 worth of stuff. BUT i got him when he was 4 months old.the peeps who had hom kept him locked up, i don't beleave in that. so we worked it out. he learned to be good and i learned not to take a dog someone else started raising!!!!! alot of people said they would get rid of him, but where would any of us be without extra chances??
