So what do you think. It looks like one, but could be a copy... no tags. Somebody welded in a bracket to maybe hold a spare..

Close but no bueno, the Hickey had legs underneath that wrapped around up to the frame from under the bumper and 3 thick cross bars. I’ve been looking for one of those for years and just recently gave up and went with a period correct Warn winch bumper instead

Yeah I bought this one and then ended up scoring a NOS Warn Classic myself from a member on here, I didn’t figure it was a Hickey but I’ve never even seen one in person..

I guess this thing is for sale but I sure do like it. I might keep it, blast it and powder coat it.

If I wouldn't have already moved forward with the Warn I'd taken it as a place holder until I found the real deal. Funny, I found two Hickey's in the past year on local beater trucks that were for sale and neither of the bastiges would separate the grill guards from the hoopies

I’ve still not found one, about once a week I search eBay, Craigslist and marketplace.

Same thing with a hickey hood. Nobody who has one and knows what it is will sell so I guess I’ll use the cowl. If it ever actually gets paint on it that is.

Autofab are 600.00 plus 100 to use factory style hinge, plus another 125-150 for shipping and cannot be used with latch, you have to use pins.

I decided I didn’t want one bad enough to pay almost 1k for it before paint and body work.

I went with the somewhat vintage looking split cowl hood for 300.00

They are pricey but I would like one just to be able to pull it all the way off for working in the engine bay. It must be considerably lighter too. Wonder what the weight difference is if using the fenders also?

I really did consider both, but my body guy was pretty apprehensive about doing them and said that he wouldn’t gaurentee his work because they looked really flexy. In the end I went with metal because it’s not going to be a trophy truck just a weekend toy with some light trails and such.
