High rpm watepumps

that looks like it has fun written all over it.

So I definitely need lower mph cooling. It can run hot waiting in traffic. So if I get an efficient pump at lower speeds, then change pulleys for racing, that would kill 2 birds with one or two stones right?

I imagine that would work, what kind of racing do you do? I know of one that road races and drives his car and he ended up having a overdrive pulley made for his highflow pump.

Ask on vettemod.com , there are some extremely knowledgeable guys there

I do drags, and an occasional 50 mile excursion, with a few shows, and parades which always heats it up quickly....I'd put a large pulley on for the drags, and a smaller one for the street.

I've been on the C1-C2 corvette forum, and mostly stock stuff there or road racers which don't see to much low speed stuff.

How long did the Stewart pump last?

Any reason not to talk to them and see how they handle it?

IIRC, their website said something like 5HP loss with their pump, which seems like a decent tradeoff over the electric option.

Its been on the engine for 12 years....doesn't really have that much mileage on it, but it started leaking out the weep hole.
Still exploring some options here.
Thanks Dorian

I have always had good luck with the stewarts on our bog trucks. They stay at wot-5300-5800-except when loading on the trailer:D. Use underdrive pulleys and elec fans with no problems.

i will say Dave. my stepson had his belt drive pump go out at Milan. an 80 firebird.a guy his DAD knew let them borrow an electric pump, and he broke outta his bracket.he went from low 12's to high 11's.just a thought.:DDustin is one consistant mofo. he is 22 and his Grandpa is buying a dragster for him and letting his DAD run the bird.:haha:

Is he adopting 50 yr olds?

Sounds cool.
