I heard the sirens, roaring engines and screeching tires so I ran out to see what was up. They turned left onto my street 1/2 block down from me and went tearing down the street to the west (away from my house) with an unmarked cop car in persuit. They somehow made it through one of the stopsigned intersections, made it passed a busy park with dozens of kids playing, but when they got the busier intersection, the suspect crashed HARD! He hit a car going down the cross street, and he had to have been doing 50 mph. After the impact the suspect's car went out of control, took out a light post and dragged it for 50 feet and skidded through 3 yards (somehow avoiding trees) and came to a stop in front of the 3rd house in from the intersection. By the time of the crash, they were out of sight, but I heard the whole thing and saw flying debris from where I was standing about 2 blocks away. So I grabbed my camera and got in my car and hauld ass down there..... I was there less than 2 minutes after it happened - it happened right across the street from a fire station so they were right on the scene. The passenger in the suspect's car went in an ambulance, but the the suspect and victim were uninjured. It's amazing nobody was killed. ... and without further adeu: The victim's car The path of destruction The suspect's car The suspect's car again The suspect resisting arrest... ... and losing when 4 other officers show up on the scene. Say Cheeeeeese! (this one will probably make it in the paper) Cleanup.
