Have you younger guys (<25) done any hitchiking. Not even sure if its safe to anymore.
Only out of absolute neccesity, twice in the same day with very different and wierd drivers. I wouldn't do it unless absolutely neccesary, and then don't expect it to be some eye-opening experience....I just kind of viewed it as "i'm in survival mode, and I need to do this to survive" (even though that wasn't completely true, that's what I told myself to justify it).
"My mother told me to never do this. "
You must remember that day James, you were one of the guys that picked me up
Well, not <25, but I did do a short ride back around '99 up in Maine. Sunk the truck on a skid road and had to get back to campus. Some really weird guy picked me up in a late model T-Bird with Coors Extra Gold cans covering the back floor and a hunting rifle on the seat next to me. I had to have him drop me off at a close general store, me being all terrified and such. Maybe it was the open one in his hand that did it....
That sounds like a bad, bad idea.
anywhere around Milknocket?
I don't think so. It was around Unity, in Waldo county.....
Used to all the time...........even had the ultimate hitch hiker's ride once..............Rolls Royce!!! Barry Setzer's drunk brother picked me up. (Big time local grown Drag Racing guys back then)
Something about the "ultimate hitchhikers ride" disturbs me.
Me and two friends got picked up in a down pour by a guy wearing a wig, make up, a pretty sweater, a mini skirt, nylons and pumps...That was the last time I ever caught a ride from anyone...
I've picked up two hitchhikers, and I'm 20. After the first one (I was 16-17), I swore I would never do it again. Picked up some skater guy from the Circle K about 2 months ago, and moved him a couple exits south. He was actually a pretty cool guy.
I've never hitchhiked, but I did pick up a hitchhiker once. His car was broken down and I gave him a ride to the gas station. He was weird, said my truck sounded like a crashing airplane.
I don't pick up hitchhikers anymore.
Shoulda told him you were giving him a ride to the scene of the crash...
I remember that f/c: Maroon with Barry Setzer on the side of it. Its in the Valvoline commercial that they play when the drags are being aired. Driven by Pat Foster....I watched it run at the Pop Rod drags event that used to be in Martin, Mi. in the 70's
My grandfather always tells me stories about after he got back from WWII hitch hiking across the country to get home, didn't take him long, back then it wasn't a big deal, alot of people did it, people were happy to help out a man who had just served his country. Man how things have changed... And I definately expected "the ultimate hitchhiker's ride" to involve sex... with girls... that's right not just girl, but girls... I was greatly disappointed.
will you be the rider or the ridee?
saddle up bronco billy
Wow!!! Thanks, that really brings back memories............they closed down both the local Drag Strips around here years ago!
