That is quite awesome...reliability seems to be an issue though if you look at all the pics of the thing getting fixed...but still cool /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Sure looks like a pop-up to me! That's one of the coolest mogs I've ever seen... /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif
That's the infamous 'Mog. Those portal axles are becoming quite popular. But they are a pain to convert to usage in anything else, primarily due to super long pinions.
Gotta love the Mogs /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
I've seen used ones on the net through a dealer in NJ for as little as 15 grand on up, depending on the condition of the truck.

That thing is awesome. I want one so bad.
But, looking at pics 1 and 4....when are people going to figure out how to mount a directional tire. Urrhhh (guess it's just a pet-peeve of mine.)
He's got the back ones right..... maybe he needs to back up a lot. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
If ya want to see more Unimogs, check out http://www.rockymountainmoggers.com/unimog.html . It's a Colorado Unimog and Pinzgauer club. They have some really cool stuff!
You can also buy them in Denver at http://www.coldwarremarketing.com . /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
Uni-mogs KICK ASS!! There is a guy who has one by where I work. It's been for sale for awhile. You can pick up refurbished ones for about $8000. Here is one I'd like to have! Crew cab, camper, the whole works! /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
There is a guy who drives one around here. Those axels are amazing. Love to see them on a first gen K5!
There are kits out there to let you install the axles into your K5. They're expensive and the Mog final gear ratio is around 7.6:1. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif So even with 44-inch tires you can't drive on the highway without some sort of under drive. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif One of the site members competed in TTC this year with a mog-axled K5. He has the low range section of an NP203 installed in front of his 205, simliar to the doubler that Off-Road Design sells. However, his is custom made to install the 203 section backwards! This lets him use the 203 as a 1:2 underdrive, putting his overall gear ratio back to something useable on the higway. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
Unimog k-5 is the link for that guys web page. He also has some friends trucks on there that are SICK!!! Even if they aren't Chevy's. Check it out, it's good reading.
Check out BC 4x4 'Hulk' to see a K5 with 'Mog stuff /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
EDIT: D'OH someone beat me to it /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
That truck has a pop up camper on the back. That truck and another simular mog out of Washington are making some long distance back coutry runs. They have a website set up detailing what they are doing and where they are. I have it book marked at home and will post a link. Last I hear they were in Alaska.
I've seen that web site to for the expidition they are taking that Mog on. There is a mog here I bet I could get for next to nothing a local cattle yard used to use for feeding or something like that with
Here you go. I think the one on the left is on 54's. the one on the right is on about 40's. The truck on the right is about 8ft tall to give you an idea how masive the one on the left is.
http://www.eurotruck-importers.com Lots of killer mogs on this site /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
I know the guy that owns this one /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
