I got tired of the stock shifter popping out of 4wd at the most inopportune times! I'm still atleast 6 months to a year away from a doubler, so this will have to do.

I used two spare 203 shifters I had, and the spare 203 case to mock it up. Both shift smoothly and are close to the factory position. Now I'll need to pick up a twin stick boot.

noob question....is it possible to run quad stick with a doubler? or is it completely unnecessary?

Well, triple stick, sure.

On the '203 double-stick, one controls Hi/Lo and the other 4WD/2WD or Loc/Unloc (depending on the presence or lack of a part-time conversion kit.)

Since all the doubler has from the '203 is the range box, i.e. the Hi/Lo part, you would only have the one shifter. The other shifter would get tossed with the chain part of the '203.

The '205 then gets two of its own, one for front Hi-N-Lo and one for rear Hi-N-Lo, presuming you've ground the shift rails.

thanks, yea im going to go triple stick with the doubler, i was just curious bout that twin stick business on the 203, since i hadnt heard much about it. thanks for the info :) i do like those knobs

You have MAD skillz, btw ... beautiful work. Seems to mel ike it's wasted on a '203 ... but I'm sure your doubler shifters will be as pretty :D

I think I am with mouse on this one why swap in a 205 when you are going to do a doubler eventually. Besides that I like my 203 next time I pull it out I may do that twin stick thing. Shoot most poeple think thier 203s are broken just cause the shifter mechanism gets all gummed up and wont shift will.

Oh, I'm not suggesting swapping to the 205 ... I think 203's are great, as they provide the rangebox for a doubler :D ... just seems like polishing a ... well, not quite a turd, but like polishing a rock. It's not gonna turn into gold if you polish it.

But it's still a pretty shifter =))

It turned out pretty good mouse. I guess you didn't need those shifter arms I had after all. Go ahead and get started on the cable triple stick setup for my doubler. I'll be back in July

A-fricken-men to that!

Though a 203 rangebox+doubler+205 combo is also very very heavy. I know this from personal experience installing mine. Grrr.

I installed mine tonight, it fits the stock hole nicely. I also am waiting for a twin stick boot. The 4wd light won't work, but that doesn't really matter to me. I just want it to stay in gear!

It probably would have been easier to wled up the shifters than measure, bend, test, measure, bend, test, etc. that I had to do for my setup. But, I am pleased so far.

Installed, but waiting for the new boot. I had to slightly clearance for the outside shifter. Works very nicely!
