OK guys, here's my dilemma. I got a hydro assist setup from MuddyBuddy to go on my rig (90 model K5). He gave me a fitting to go on my return line that goes to the back of the power steering pump. He said I'd need a flair fitting (that he's getting me) to be able to hook the pressure line from a 75 K5 4wd, same as the steering box, up to the back of my pump. I got the pressure line but here's where the questions come in. He said the return line just has hose clamps on both ends of it. Ok, no problem but my truck has some sort of finless power steering cooler (second picture) from the factory and has pressure fittings on both ends of it (1st picture, hose on left is return line). Now the fitting he gave me to go on the back of the pump (3rd picture, elbow is on the left, new pressure hose is on the right) will screw into the steering box. Could I just have the elbow fitting put on the steering box with a hose clamp on this line going to the cooler and not have to mess with putting one on the back of my pump for the return? Seems simple enough. I know I'm going to have to have a new fitting for the pressure line. Give me y'alls thoughts on this before I go cutting and whatnot. Thanks in advance!
So all I need now is the fitting for the pressure line going to the back of the pump, that should be on the way. Thanks again!
