Hot deal on shop lighting

Added those to my wish list. Thank you. I need lights above my work benches and more between my led can lights in the ceiling.

I've had a lot of LED light failures in the last 5 years. I started buying them from Menards last year so I can just take them back to the store and they give me comparable new ones. Usually they blink irritatingly first then whole sections burn out then they die. The ones with NEMA 5-15 plugs and receptacles with pull chains seem to hold up longer than the linking brick strip lights.

To put things in perspective, I've turned over every light in my garage at least once in 5 years. My old T58 conversion LED bulbs, ballasts, and fixtures are still being used in my neighbor's pole barn. He uses them less than I use mine (mine are on for 5+ hours every day).

If you get the ones with the reflectors and a cover that is translucent then that helps with getting rid of the sync lines on your phone. Also, if you can, put them on different breakers (one off each leg of the panel) as it will help with the perception of the 60hz blink and help the phone's camera as well. Whatever circuits they use in cheap lights make them so their on time is really short.

Oh, and 4500 lumens or so rated in 4' of length on 2' centers is about the most you want with a 12' ceiling. Otherwise you end up with hot spots/shadows when you're working on stuff.

I bought similar to the OP years back (not sure if 10 years, but probably getting close), except mine are 4ft fluorescent bulb replacements.

I have four bulb fixtures, but only did two per. Found out I can rotate each bulb in the bulb "socket" a good amount, so every bulb is casting light at an angle. Each pair is angled towards each other a bit, but at 11' up, really seems to cut down on shadows.

I don't use my lights anwhere near 5 hours a day, out of I believe 18 bulbs, one has started flickering. Eventually it stops flickering, but I assume sooner or later it will die. For what I paid for the lot of them, I'm ok with that failure rate.

Has anybody tried these screw in bulb replacements?
I bought a few to replace in my garage, and basement. I had a few flourecents finally crap out, so replacement was forthcoming. I think they’re great, plenty of bright light, and you can aim those ”pods” in many directions, like above tall shelves.

I got a 6 on sale at Menards, for almost half price, so it was worth a try. I think I’ll be using more of these around the place.
