the last time i adjusted my rocker arms the guy i took it to said he used a vacuum gauge and it took him like 20-30 min. When he was done it sounded perfect (im so used to that ticking sound). So when i get my locking rocker arm nuts im going to readjust everyrthing. How do i use a vacuum gauge when adjusting my rocker arms?

When you set your valves, hook the vac guage up to to same port you get your manifold press. from (13-18 pounds). What you do is tighten the rocker 1/4 turn and watch the guage, when the motor recovers full vac, turn it another 1/4 turn. If you don't watch the guage or wait till it recovers, you could collapse a lifter.

I have always set mine 1 full turn after they quit clacking. Go to the part store and get the clips to go over the rockers or muuuuuch mess will ensue!
