How do people react to your trucks?

My Girlfriend thinks my K5 is ugly /forums/images/icons/frown.gif . Oh well I didn't buy it to please her /forums/images/icons/grin.gif . Shoot if it aint pounding the concrete (which i must admit mine does alot of) and have IFS and some kind of fancy paint job she don't like it.
 
Kids love it, parents hate it. I went to the local walmarts and was asked buy a lady not to park on top of her neon. I said I only park on them when there in a field! My wife used to work at a daycare center. All the kids would go wild when I would pick her up for lunch in it!

I tend to get a lot of stares when I pull my K30 with my K10. Something about an old chevy pulling another truck thats been beat to hell and back.
 
confusion comes over their faces and i get questions like...what is it? is that your exhaust? where are your doors? can i take a ride? most people just see a big truck with big tires, but reactions are mostly cool. the flat black color can be a little intimidating, too.
 
I forgot about this one. I was at Applebee's and went to the Blazer to wait for Sandi. A white Sable full of old ladies pull up and just about hit me. Theyre all staring at PI as they get out and walk in. All of them bitching about it, and one of them says "I thought those things were illegal, who would own something like that?" The whole time Ive been thinking you dont know me, you dont know what Im about, and your talking trash like Im some 2nd rate piece of crap! When they were RIGHT in front of the grille, (Bowtie at eyelevel on them) it seemed like at opportune time to fire up. /forums/images/icons/wink.gif I didnt play "Capt Revtune", I just turned the key and let it idle. They about jumped out of their skin! It was funny as hell. Come to think of it....maybe I AM the 2nd rate piece of crap they thought I was. /forums/images/icons/smirk.gif
 
Oh Yeah, a story comes to mind. Last year I broke my right
leg in ten places had to have an operation. Couldn't drive my car cause it is a 5 speed so, I had to drive the truck
for six weeks. I got a temp handicap parking. You should
have seen all the people bitchin' about that Big O' Truck
parked in their handicap spot. LOL I would just smile and
laugh to myself as I hobbled along the way. /forums/images/icons/smirk.gif
 
My knees almost caused me to sell PI a few months ago. I hardly ever drove it, and I could barely walk for over a month, BOTH my knees blew out at the same time, and I was getting the itch to have another Z28. Long story short, I came to my senses, waited for my knees to get "better" and started driving PI daily, just to make sure I never get that urge again. I did get strange looks hobbling to it till my knees got better, (well.. as good as the ever will be again) and hopping in and out. I made some funny faces when my feet would hit the ground. /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif
 
Well I have "Body by Tellico". Their isn't a strait peice of sheetmetal left on my truck. Both rear fender lips have been snagged by roots and rocks. Driverside is acctully tearing the steel. I need to weld that. Both doors have creases. Driverside area around the tail light is all dimpled from prying it out with a claw hammer so I could get a tail light back in it. Dimples from the insideo ut from jamming 2x4's up into the fenders to pry them out after smashing it in on a boulder at Tellico. Massive 4x4 steel bumpers with 2x2 inch uprights that I put on to try to protect the tailights that have rock rash on them and they are 33 inches from the ground at the bottom.
It's not the biggest with it only being on 35's but kids love it. Every once in a while I will drive my oldest to School (grade school) with the top off. All the kids have to gawk at it. My daugter always has a grin on her face as the teacher at the curb has to lower her down to the ground. I love the kids. That look of "He has the biggest Tonka toy on the block!" on their face is great.
Now I hardly ever wash the pig. Only time I sort of try to clean it up is when pictures are needed for stuff like the STC adds in Offcamber 4x4 and write ups I do. It's washing usualy comes from Mother nature in the form of rain.
I live in East Cobb aka East Snob. Just north of Atlanta, where a lot of money is. I get a kick out of parking the pig next to black woods, Denali's and Eddie Bauer Excursions and making them look small. I really love when the side is covered by dry mud and I find that special person that cant get their SUV centered in the parking space. I make a point of jamming it in there so they have to slide their fat butt against my dirty truck to get in their SUV. I imagine the ringing noise as their door hits my 4x4 inch rock slider folding the lip of their door is pretty funny sounding to those that hear it. /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif
The real off roaders in the area appreciate it and know it's a truck built for serious offroad. I acctully emptied the local 4wp's when I ramped it checking some clearences. All the yuppie kids had to come out and look. Stupid sales jerk they sent out to spot me knew nothing about ramping and didn't stop me when I had a tire a foot off the ground (Yes Terd73 the one you use to work at...forget the guys name). The rest I just intimidate by seeing how close I can put a 35 to their bling bling POS.
Getting out of of my neghborhood in the mornings is sometimes a joy. When the traffic backs up people tend to block the enterance. I like to turn on the high beams pull up about 5 inches off their door and flip on the turn signal. It's sort of intimidating having a 55watt hologen high beam pointed in your side window warming the side of your face making the point your a little peaved that they are blocking the street marked with a big sign that say's "DO NOT BLOCK THE INTERSECTION". After all those two car lengths are so important and are going to make the difference to you getting to work on time that I should be inconvienced while you wait 4 minutes for the light 500 ft up the road to cycle again. /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif

This is my senior year and over the summer my truck suddenly transformed into 10 inches of lift and 39.5" TSL's. Everybody stares and I get a compliment at least 1-2 times a day outside of school. I always get the monster truck thing and "how big are your tires". I love it. /forums/images/icons/grin.gif
 
i get these pretty blue and red flashing strobe light's and get escorted to the side of the road.
where i am asked to jump down out of this thing.
then they ask me what the hell i am thinking driving this down the road.
followed by an written award with a futare date on it. /forums/images/icons/grin.gif

I really love the attention. My 79 K10 has a D60front and D70 rear with the rear welded. Picture a Rust Oleum blue Chevy with 8" of lift, cut fenders, 44" TSL's rumbling into a parking lot with 1 chamber flowmasters resonating and rear tires chirping (because it's welded) as I pull into a regular sized parking spot (I love my crossover steering). I have a winch and my grill is expanded steel. I love the way my 3" turndows are the perfect height off the ground to resonate right through the windows of little cars with big stereo systems. I get lots of attention, and I love it. I really love to park next to "bling-bling" trucks while mine is good and dirty. I get comments like "that thing is f..ing huge" and "that's badass". Some people call me a redneck....I'm not. I get introduced as "the guy who drives the Beast...you know, the big blue truck." I really hate the people who think that I'm always fixing it....it doesn't break much. I really appreciate the people who actually know what's what in the world of 4wheel drive who tell me I'm set up very well.
 
Man, I'm a senior this year too, and I wish I would have been into the sport deep enough when I began that I would have put my beast straight onto some 40s instead of stopping at 35s. I do get a lot of compliments tho cause my 77 is very clean for being a 77. Recieved 3 alone today, and I only drove it 4 times, within 5 miles each trip. I love the attention I get in it, it feels good to know that others envy what you have worked so hard for!

I had my Jimmy about a week and was driving my son around and we pulled up next to a jeep. There was a kid in the passenger seat and he just waved at me and nodded his head at the truck. We passed each other back and forth for about 3 miles and every time he just stared at the truck wide eyed and smiled. My son thought it was cool as heck. That diesel sound gets their attention for sure, everybody looks up when they hear it coming. The fact that it's bone stock is what's really surprising. I love my truck and my son loves riding in it.
 
i almost caused an accident the other day cause the guy driving on the opposite side of the street was staring at it and almost rear ended the car in front of him----and i always like the "wow", and "cool", and "look at the monster truck" from the kids /forums/images/icons/tongue.gif that will always make my day no matter how bad it was.
 
My kids love it, Joey is my 8 year old son, and the kids at this school think he is the coolest kid at school. I make it a point to pick him up at school and drop him off on a regular basis. Remember how cool it was when some one at school has something diffrent than everyone else. My kid absolutely dig the blazer. No door, and camo, and a full roll bar, with 35, and a cool cam, absolutely turns head in AZ. It's the Camo.

The best one for me is when my nieces and nephews say..."Let's go for a ride in BIG RED! - YYAAAAAA!!!"

It's not THAT big... but when your 10... everything is big.
