How heavy is a K5 frame ?

Yeah...you sure you wanna junk that thing? Around here that would be considered a survivor.

You'd have cringed at the "good shape" '88 I went and looked at a month or so ago.

Well,
to be honest, I absolutely have no idea what to do with that truck! I planned to part it out as i mentioned before but I'm not sure anymore... It is a one-owner jimmy, well maintained with only 96 k miles ! the guy (born 1934) who bought it back in 88 is retired now and emigrated to california.
on the other hand, I've a repainted 84 k5 in the garage... can take some pics of that truck too.
btw:
it is equipped with quad shocks, a pretty rare option i suppose...

Actually here in the snowbelt of North America the quad shocks aren't unusual at all. Lots of folks bought these trucks intending to put snow plows on them and the quad shocks were part of that package I believe.

It's harder to find one up here withOUT the quad shock package than it is with them.

Here in the US I would get another body.

Where you are, depending on value of those things, and relative rarity, it MIGHT be worth it to fix. All the body panels and what not I believe are available, so repair isn't impossible. But it's a lot of work.
