Check this out and see if it brings back any old memories:
Takes me back to the days when there were only 3 TV stations. NBC, ABC, and CBS. I remember when cartoons when they weren't too politically correct. They actually made fun of other races. Heckle and Heckle were 2 Crows that had a heavy black accent. Speedy Gonzalez was very Mexican and all his Friends were lazy. Tom and Jerry's main human character was a Black Lady with a thick southern black accent. All were changed in the 60s to be more sensitive to other races. Many old cartoons cant be aired anymore in their original form. It might hurt the delicate egos of our thin skinned minorities.
Back when you actually had to get up and go change the channel manually.
Back when you had to wait a whole week just to watch cartoons. That's when you would wake up bright and early on a Saturday morning, turn on the tube, wait for it to warm up .. and often end up falling back to sleep watching them. But if you were lucky, you woke up before you're favorite ones came on.
Jonny Quest was an all time fav (bad dudes actually got smoked on that show!!!) How awsome was that?! You won't find many TV cartoons where people got offed.. not back then, or even later. And, of course Scooby Doo will always be a classic.
what is this "cartoon" you people speak of?
i remember cartoons back when tom and jerry hit each other with frying pans or yosemitie sam got an anvil dropped on the tazmanian debil or something...
now its all "go go power laserdoohickiebobpper" computer animated crap...
Yeah the new cartoons really suck. No wonder there are so many emos running around.
Anime is good. At least the Japanese still know how to make cartoons. I was throughly entertained hanging here, drinking beer, and watching DBZ last night.
I am apparently not old enough.
that site doesent have super globe trotters on it >.<
How old? Well, that stuff is all that modern TV. We saw Kartoons during intermission at the Saturday Matinee.
Where's a smiley with a beard?

Geez! Yeah back when we had 3 stations and 2 of those didn't air 'til the afternoon and they all shut down late night with the national anthem and that horrible 'twighlet Zone' high pithed humm with the white dot!

I don't consider what we have on TV now days "cartoons" alot of the oriental crap they are bringing over here, very evil looking stuff they are playing now, is just not a "cartoon", cartoons are supposed to make you laugh and whatnot....
