How to install differential gears?

i want to put 4:11's in my 10-bolt front and rear on my 84 k5. what parts do u need to do this and how long is it? or if i take it to the shop how long will it take them to do it? what tools are needed? new gaskets, silicone, and fluid also?

From your questions, I'm guess you don't want to do it yourself.

if you are very mechanically inclined, you can probably figure this out over a weekend with very in depth instructions and pictures (such as those provided by bp71k5)

If you are somewhat mechanically inclined, youll want someone who has done this several times looking over your shoulder.

If you are less than somewhat mechanically inclined, this kinda falls into the category of rebuilding an automatic tranny. pay someone to do it that knows what they are getting into.
