how to stay motivated?

what tipped this off last night was a freaking bum was sleeping in my truck...

My tire was flat since i hadnt filled it with air so i popped the garage open, fired the compressor up and went out to get the air gauge out of my truck and couldnt see. reached in and there was some dude sleeping on my passenger seat.

It was a major wtf moment for me. I asked him what he was doing and he said sorry man im sleepin. So i told him he needed to sleep somewere else and he left.

So my truck has become a bum hut.

HAHA, sorry, but thats funny.
You could have done a lot worse

Everybody who has played this game for years knows the feeling. It comes and goes periodically. Knowing it will pass is the important part along with enjoying what you have. You have an outstanding rig. Everybody wants more but that is the reason for dreaming and the future.

At least it wasn't Dirty Mike and the boys having an orgy in it (the other guys movie)

All you have to do to really appreciate your Blazer is....

Sell it!

The moment you do you will miss it and want another.

You have a cool Full Convert - take the top off on a sunny day and it will make you smile all day long.

We are forum blood brothers....you make me have to rant.

I drive a civic due to a long commute...but I ride dirtbikes, camp, hunt on the weekends, so I got tired of taking the wifes 2wd 4runner.

sold one of my bikes and decided to get a good vehicle to camp with, fish with, and tow my little 5x8 trailer to the MX track. K5 sounded perfect.

THEN I JOINED THIS DAMN MONEY MAGNET OF A FORUM! I blame every one of you.

Now, I have around $7k in a 89 blazer worth prolly $1900 (book value) with 3/4 ton axles, 6" lift, 37s, locker, bedlined interior, 16.5" rims (locks me into military takeoffs)

She wanders all over the road, vibrates like mad between 55-63mph, leaks ATF from the tcase/transmission adapter. Has no parking brakes (due to axle swap - inspection coming up) Leaks oil from somewhere...and I have to wheel it like a grandma to avoid braking anything, since I am now too broke to fix it!

So, I ended up with a vehicle that sucks to drive to the hunting ranch, is just as hard to drive with the trailer behind it, and the motor and trans are original and prolly just waiting to leave me somewhere :haha::D

BUT, somehow everytime I go out to take my craigslist photos...I just cant do it. I keep saying, I should just trade it for a STOCK suburban that fits my needs better....just havent been able to make myself do it.....yet....

I feel ya man....I dont think there is a solution. Damned if you do....Broke if you dont.

Go ride shotgun with your buddies. Get out and hike and take pictures. Figure out how the lines work and what's different from your rig. Makes you want to go fix your junk so you can challenge yourself. Sometimes I get stressed out on the trail trying to make it over something. Its hard to solve those problems when you need to be driving, but once I come up with a solution, I get really focused on making it happen.

Spend more time exploring. Sometimes I lose track that my favorite part of wheeling has always been getting way back in a valley and seeing things that noone else gets to.

My motivation is seeing all those parts laying on the garage floor and my OCD kicks in and I have to get it put back together...I don't know how I will feel if I ever get it finished but the OCD kills you...when you have an insane urge to have to get things finished it motivates you.

One day...I will walk outside and I will be Chief Martin Brody running up to the Blazer with the coffee cup in my hand...I will jump in and close the door....some blonde chick playing my wife Ellen will yell at me "I want my cup back"....and I will yell back "You'll get it"....and then I'll back out of the driveway and punch it...and a huge dream will be fulfilled...

the next step will be to drive it to Martha's Vineyard and actually pull out of the original driveway at the original house that was the Brody's....
