So I need to straighten my frame just a little bit. It's just the front few inches. Should I just heat it up and beat it like a redheaded step child? Don't think I can get any good hammer swings in there. What say you?

It happened aboot 8 years ago when I first got this pile. I was coming out of rock tub and the hook(worst place for tow hook BTW) caught and turned the frame into a pretzel. I just never got around to fixing since it's not hurting anything. But I want to swap in some 52s....

Big cresent wrench, that might work....

what about finding a donor frame and cutting it off behind the spring hanger and welding in a new section?

I know that a few junk yards around here will even cut off the section you need for $5-10 if you dont need the whole frame.

Cut a piece of flat bar and tack it in right where the front of the current spring hanger is so it goes up to the top of the frame. This will keep that part of the frame the correct dimension.

Grab a 32 oz ball pein hammer and hammer the bent portion up cold. It's thin enough you can dolly it to fine tune the repair. Once the bent section is near enough to the correct shape again remove the piece of flat bar.

Do you mean tack the bar in perpendicular to the outside of the frame as in pic 1? or parallel to the outside of the frame as in pic 2?

I also have a porta power but I've never used it. Would it be effective for this?
