Hey guys, my friends have a little issue with his truck. He has the same rig as me, 90 Blazer, 4" lift, but with stock 31"ers....He`s getting a howling noise, and he thinks its coming from the middle of front of the rig. He says it does it in 2WD and 4WD, but it gets noticeable worse in 4WD.

Thanks in advance.

A little more info, he only hears it when he lets off the gas...

Automatic ? Torque converter possibly.. they make noise when when you lift, when they are going bad..

I would think diffs or transfer cases would always howl if they were the problem..

cause i have a noise on my truck when i let off the gas and i can feel it more than hear it but it may be because of the exhaust. i can feel it in the gas pedal like when i am on an exit ramp from the highway. so i just feather the gas to stop it i have no idea what it is.

If it still has the Auto locking hubs make sure ones not engaged. Lift the front and spin each tire and see if the driveshaft spins.

since yall speak of it my truck does sorta the same loud whining noise towrds the middle as well... only when im on the gas doing 70 but not on the gas enough to even keep up speed like where its barely keeping up with the drivelines and all

Couple more things to add. He said that he can feel it in the floor boards, and that it usually only does it at speeds of 45 MPH +.
