Any members here sell parts for Hummer wheels? I need o-rings, valve stems (different?) and maybe a couple of studs & nuts - just small parts.

I know USA6x6 is the standard answer but with all of the negative feedback I'm uneasy about dealing with them.

No, he does parts? I knew he sold the pvc inserts and stuff but I hadn't thought about him for the little stuff.

Sapper just bought a set of centers for his hummer rims from USA 6x6 and had no problems. As far as parts let me know exactly what you need and I will look around at work and see what I have.

SAWEEET!

I've (5) 8 bolt style surplus wheels, the only thing I'm sure I need is o-rings and valve stems (if they're different, can you find out?). I think the studs & nuts are all ok, I was just going to get a few for spares.

These wheels have that hard black or green paint/coating, any suggestions for stripping it off? I hit them with oven cleaner and a pressure washer but they just laughed at me. :doah:

That paint is most likely CARC. I would reccomend that you just paint over it. If you really want to remove it then you should first do a Google search for CARC, and see what you are getting into.

At a minimum you will need a respirator

Valve stems are the same as any other wheel, best thing to strip off that paint would be sandblasting, that CARC paint is TOUGH.

GREAT! Thanks for the valve stem info!

I searched for theCARC stuff and it sounds nasty. :yikes: I've always had good luck using oven cleaner as a stripper/cleaner but it didn't budge this stuff. :eek1:

Yep sand blasting would be the thing to do to get the CARC off. I just CARC painted my truck. I love it. I will look around tomorrow and see what I can scrounge up as far as O rings and a few extra studs and nuts.

hey man, i got my h1 wheel parts from, marion humvee in atlanta. they got a parts guy there that is super h1 smart. i got the number at the house if u want i can get it for u tommorrow.

Yeah, please! I called my local (new) dealer here and the guy didn't have a clue about what o-rings I wanted. :surepal:

THANKS!!

The Valve stems are not the same. At least on my 12 bolt wheels they weren't. Only difference is that the lots for them are rectangular instead of round. All you need to do is drill it out to fit your standard steel stems or rubber ones. I used the steel stems once I drilled them out and it has been fine for a couple of years.

I also bought some o-rings from USA6X6. They shipped them out immediatly. Only problem was that they sent me 8 bolt o-rings instead of 12 bolt. But I was still able to make them work.

His post said he has 8 bolt rims, that is what I have in my garage, they use standard valve stems and have held air for almost a year with no leak, I would say there is nothing special about them.

John,
Didn't have any around my shop but after the first of the year I will pay a visit to a buddy who works over in the Tire Changing Facility and snatch you up some O rings and some spare studs and nuts. I think he gets back around the 5th or so.
