Hi,

I have a 75 K5 and want to run a SM465 and need the under dash pedal assembly (and zbar or clutch slave). I am in Socal...

Thanks...

Ideally hydralic, but I'll take what I can get...it's been a while since I've messed around with these and can't remember if the bellhousings are different. Neither here nor there, whatcha got?

Bellhousings are different. I have a mechanical pedal set. Let me see if the z-bar and linkage are with it. Stuff is buried in my parts stash, should have a bellhousing too if you need one. The hydraulic parts are getting harder to find, '85 and later only.

Yep, thats a hydro one. Worth some good money these days. There are 3 on ebay right now, $360, $550 and $950!

I should also have the rod that goes from pedal to z-bar but have not found it yet. $80.00 plus shipping. Also have bellhousing and a 4x4 sm465 4 spd. $125.00 plus shipping

Hi,

Is it the same pedal assembly regardless of bell housing? I'm not opposed to going the z bar route, but I'm trying to determine what works with what

84 and older used mechanical pedals and zbar style pivots which has a ball on the bellhousing.
85-91 use hydraulic pedals and bellhousing. They dont mix.

Thanks! I knew the bell housings were different, but did not realize that the actual pedal was different. Out of curiosity, is the different where the pivot point is on the pedal? I would expect the manual pedal to have the rod go through the floor at ~45 degrees to connect to the zbar and the pedal for the hydraulic to go straight through the firewall to the clutch cylinder. My super secret hope is that the attachment point on the pedal is the same so that I can use the pedals listed above with my hydraulic bell housing.

If not, then I will either have to keep looking for pedals or go the manual route which is what I had on my last Blazer and it worked ok.

There are a few differences. The pedal hole is different but the big issue is the firewall. The sheet metal is not tough enough to hold the hydraulic master cylinder. The hydraulic pedal set reinforces the firewall so the sheet metal does not tear. Just bolting the master to the firewall will fail.

That makes total sense, thank you for explaining it to me. Well, looks like the search continues. Since I have a hydraulic bell housing, I'll try to go that route as my experience is the zbar is great until you're all twisted up in the rocks, then it is less great.

Have a complete hydraulic clutch/hydroboost system for sale. Pedals, bellhousing, brake booster, pump, lines and clutch reservoir and lines. Would like 850 for the whole setup.
