I'm going blind reading old posts, and I can't think of another way to word it:doah:
Can U run ram assist with out having x-over steering set up? It's only a 10b, so I don't want to spend the money on it for the x-over, but I need somthing to help it turn:blush:

Yes you can. I saw a K5 in a 4wheeler article a while back with a guy who did that. He ran the ram to his tie rod IIRC.

i have heard that its not a good idea and will break when the steering binds and the ram keeps going from bad geometry when flexed.

Yeah I don't think it's a good idea. It will just make things move that don't want to because of the steering geometry:doah:

Like he said! I bought all the hydro assist stuff too to put on a 10blt then realised it just wasn't a good idea. So I've just been shopping at ORD and have a cross over to set up over the next few weeks while I'm doing my lift and motor swap and trans rebuild and new intank pump and shackle flip and...does it never bl**dy end?!!:doah:

u can re-use everything for x-over on the 60 if u get one except the arm....so thensell the arm and get a 60 arm problem solved

I would spend the money on xover for a 10bolt/44 before I spent the money on hydro assist. If you are having problems turning its cuz of the stock steering setup more then not having the power to turn.

I didn't know that:crazy: Which arm? I have not looked to close @ a D60, I just assumed that nothing would interchange but the steering link. If that's the case I will do a serch and start prepairing for x-over:D

Visit ORD's website (link on home page). They have all the info you'll need. I think there's something in our tech page too.

Yep mine was hard to turn before too, but with X-over I can sit still and turn it lock to lock very easily.

All the crossover steering in the world will not help much with the front locked. I could turn a train sharper then my K5 with out the ram. Now with the ram it's a 1 finger operation. BTW I have crossover too.

Ya know, the funnie thing is, it's not any diferant with the spool then it was without it:crazy: I don't get it, I was wating for that problem when I put the spool in but it never arose. It just plowed A LOT after the spool, but the steering feel it's self didn't change at all:dunno:

Not when you have an ARB and push the little button:p:
