Is there a simple seal back there or do I need to fully rebuild or buy a new unit?

I usually just by a new hydro boost unit. Never checked into resealing one. Prob not worth it in my opinion.

Yeah, the same leak was an excuse for me to get a new unit.

I tried rebuilding one and managed to lock it up. Just buy a new one.

Make sure it's ps fluid not brake fluid before buying your part!

Thanks. You know I was just looking at it again...it's the front of the firewall that's wet and by the looks of the part it extends back past the firewall so a rear seal leak would be inside the cab, I think. I need to wash it off good and do some better diagnosis.

Yeah, my leak was inside the cab. Sounds like OP might have something different.

Yes, and the other thing is what I assume is black rattle can paint on the firewall from the previous owner is washing away, it's white underneath like the original paint. But the master cylinder seems dry on the outside, and it's full, but I have had to add steering fluid twice. Anyway I'll get to the bottom of it as soon as my relatives get out of here.
