I checked my timing and....

    I'll be d@mned if my chalk mark wasn't anywhere near my timing tab. I spent some time trying to figure out what was causing the chalk to wear off before I could hit it with the timing light.

    Then I finally saw the chalk line - WAY to the left of the timing mark, like in 40 to 50 degree advanced timing land, easy.

    I reset it to 10 and tightened the dist. hold down bolt that had loosened. You can imagine how much better it idles, revs, and drives.

    Well, duh.

    Just a reminder to check the dumb things.
