I have several trucks and a k5. The k5 i kinda got screwed in the title department. The car lot bought a dismantleing permit on it and in utah you cannot re title it. I bought it after they had repoed it from a previous owner, and somewhere in the mix they labeled it as dismantle only. They let me keep it and gave me most my money back. The body is in fairly good shape, and right now the truck is sitting with gutted interior and no engine. It has a 3" rancho soft ride d60 14bff sm465 np205(slip yoke version). The frame is salvageable but most the rivits are loose and some cracks.

What i would realy like to build is a crew cab on a long bed reg cab chassis with a small pourpose built flatbed, and possibly an exo-cage. I have a 83 k20 with good frame and crappy body 10b 14bsf np208 sm465 and blown 6.2 diesel. I have had a hard time finding a crew cab that wasnt totaly rotted out or the owner thought it was gold. I have desided to start with the axles and drivetrain. Rebuilding and upgrading them. Im gunna aim at 38-40" tires, I would realy like a nv4500, and a 203-205 double x-case. I prefer to drive there, wheel, and drive back. My goal would be a rig that does everything well rather than exelle in one area such as rocks, mud, ect.

If any of you have a simular rig post some pics please. Sugestions are welcome, as are leads on a crewcab cheap enough and close enough. I dont need perfect just dont wanna replace the whole bottom of the cab just to use it.

OH and if any of ya are asking about the my most recent purchase, a 86 2wd pickup. The body is almost perfect on this truck and i just cant bring myself to build a wheeler out of it and smash it up. So im gunna build a lowered street truck out of it.

Wait, your in roosevelt. I could use some parts off that K5, and help you make some more of your money back. I will keep my eyes peeled for any crew cabs, although they are few and far between here. There are a couple around, but if they were to be sold, they would go for a pretty penny, as they have been completely redone already.

That is a nice looking 2wd you got there. I can't say that I blame you for not wanting to beat it up.
