I have a K5!

Busy working. Maybe tonight.

I don't promise much...took them all with my cell phone.

Still working on figuring out how to transfer all the pictures to my computer without having to do it via text message one at a time.

I did transfer the following four. It's much less old man now! Actually looks tall!
Also notice all the grunge and **** that was behind the wheel well mouldings. Ewwwwww...

I was just walking around my rig the other night, inspecting various things and decided to take a peek up in the rear wheel wells at the classic K5 rust point and started digging around in those little rib things between the inner well and the bedside...20 minutes and a bunch of tapping with a rubber mallet later I had extracted about 2 lbs of dust and dry dirt. No wonder they rust out if they can hold that much crap up there

Lookin' good, nice find!

Thanks! Yeah, if mine had been in Michigan all it's life I'd be annoyed and worried. There is some dirt and **** built up, especially towards the rear, that you can tell folks have just never washed out. I plan on changing that soon.

That said I did discover an odd leak from my rear t-case output and one of the passenger side seat mounts appears to have cracked/torn the floorboard.

Looks good. Blue & white is my second favorite color combo. Now get moved out of the rust belt before you destroy that thing.

Sell the house or foreclose August 1st I'm looking for work in Kentucky. Can't sit here anchored to this thing forever. My realtor doesn't even try and tell me when the market is going to come back anymore...even admits he has no clue anymore.

Thanks man! I have a deal lined up on a stock bumper, brackets, and other doodads for it and also a set of stock buckets out of a '90 K5. It's coming together well so far.

It now has functioning rear shocks! Hope to do the fronts tomorrow.

Got a heater core in the future...dammit...

Plus side I'm pretty sure it's got some sort of turbo muffler setup on it. Goes from the stock crimp bent pipe just before the mufflers to compression bent pipe, two turbo looking mufflers (seem to me to be too small to be the stockers), and then compression bent pipe all the way to the two chrome tips buried under a bunch of soot and grime.

Christ, you should definitely be able to find one. I still kick myself for not buying 6 of them when I lived in San Diego 97-01.

Well, finally got around to it and swapped out the winch bumper for a nice chrome one off of a '86. Yeah, it's not the correct trim and I wanted the bumper teeth "bumperettes" thingies, but eh, I'm happy.

Got all the parts, the braces, new chrome bumper bolts, and a good shape sliding rear window and seal for Big Ugly. Also a good contact for Chevy/GMC truck parts. Guy had 6 trucks in various stages of repair and literally parts for dozens more. 3/4 and 1 ton axles out the ying yang, heavy duty drivetrain parts everywhere, valuable trim and interior and exterior parts, and big blocks everywhere. 572 what?

I thought those needed the holes in the bumper?

Could probably drill for them though.

For the little push bars? You've already got the holes for them. Unless I'm misunderstanding "bumperettes".

Oh, I was thinking they mounted separately...then again I haven't looked real hard at how they mount...ever.

Got some "bling" via Fedex today and should have new shoes this weekend.

NICE. My favorite older style wheels EVER. Look awesome on these trucks. I have a set of 16.5x10's in my garage waiting for me to put zero rates on and mount tires on them. What you getting for tires?

LT265/75R16 GT Savero Radial MT's. I wanted a bit more height but no more width in tires. These Goodyear AT/S's I have now are only about 29" tall despite being 31x10.5R15's.

Had pretty much given up though as the cheapest 16x7's or 16x8's with backspacing like we need were going to cost me over $350 before shipping new. Couldn't find any used. Then stumbled on this "lightly used" set on here. Woot!
