I have a K5!

Okay, pics time.

For reference these are LT305/70R16's GT Radial MT's on 16x8 aluminum wheels with 4" of backspacing.

They're about 32-32.5" tall on the truck. Need to drop the pressure a little. Whatever the tire place has them at has maybe half the tread touching. :haha:

Drives fine. Little bit less pep off the line but before it always seemed like it was revving fast and didn't hold 1st very long. Seems quieter at 50mph too.

Going to take it out and flex it on some stuff soon, see where it will rub and what needs trimming. Still debating defanging it.

Next up will be sipes, bead balancing, and definitely need to check the torque on the lug nuts.

Nothing while driving. Have to see flexed. If they rub I can always get the sawzall and grinder out. Done it before and those parts aren't needed anyway.

Swaybar...hrmmm...

So you got out and had a little fun this weekend since it was warmer eh? I went four-wheeling with a bunch of guys here at work... had a lot of fun... warm weather was definitely welcomed.

Eh, no wheeling sadly. Trip to the tire store though. Jagged and I have new rubber on our trucks! Well, he has wheels too...still...
I had a thought in my head to take it out yesterday but was running around doing errands and then a SNAFU of a date so it just never happened.

Yeah, SO glad we got the weekend we did and not the one they had forecast. Where'd you guys go wheeling? I'm close to having this thing where I'd at least take it out 2-tracking. I know my roomie is Jonesing to get out.

I actually went to TN, about 15 miles south of the KY-TN border on I-75.

All the guys here had atv's, dirtbikes, and side-by-sides... so I took my rail buggy. Had a lot of fun. We stayed on the narrow trails so I'm not sure how many trails they have for big vehicles... had fun tho :D

I moved my blazer this weekend too... started up good. I think I have a tranny leak now... one more thing on the to-do list... haha

Yeah. My Tracker's exhaust has a new rattle now. If it isn't one thing it's another.
(Prior owner had a turbo muffler put in place of the factory muffler but the quality of the work was ABYSMAL and it's rusting to pieces on me.)

Where's it leaking out of now?

Up late but figured I'd share my happiness.

Tomorrow I'm returning it to full active status in the fleet (of 2:laugh:) and driving it to work. Took some time after work and the dog walk to wash the spare tire and wheel, put them back in the rear on the mount, and then recheck the tires and lug nuts.

None of them were at 100ft/lbs. Some were a bit high but probably half in the rear were a good bit higher. Broke them all loose and then retightened at 100lbs with the torque wrench.

Not only did they fill my tires with Nitrogen ...but they put 50psi of the stuff in each tire. No wonder it was a bit sketchy the other day coming home. Let 20psi out of each tire and will do the chalk test soon, sure I'll loose a bit more.

When all was done I cleaned the dust off the windshield, fired it up, and went to Dairy Queen.:woot:
More excited about the drive than DQ. The burger was good though.

Steering is FAR better with the tires aired down to a closer number. The gearing is GREAT with the 33's. Used to blow through 1st gear but now it seems to use it more. Definitely a bit quieter around 50-55mph too. Need to get my Tiny Tach.

She's improving slowly.

Also pleased to say the lift pump swap seems to have gone well. No more puddles of diesel under it every time I run it.:thumb:

Yeah. Still leaking out of the oil pan and mains, still leaking out of the tailshaft, got that rattle still, loud in the interior (but not as bad anymore), and the paint sucks...but dammit, I love the big thing.

Spoken like a true K5 addict.... :D

Hahaha, yeah, I grew up in one so I've had the feva/disorder/sickness since I was...oh...a fetus.

Replacing the tailpipe on The Tracker has turned into a whole exhaust replacement due to the prior owner and his hamfisted "mick-in-ick"'s work. Blazer just chugs around ferrying me to parts stores and everything else. DD time again!

Yeah the paint may suck, but it at least 1000X better than what's left on Krusty. To make it look that pretty you would have to be taking the picture from KY. :haha:

Sadly no pics of the stupidity but spent yesterday at The Knob Creek Machine Gun Shoot. Happens the weekend after the first full week of every April and October. World's largest gathering of privately owned fully automatic weapons. Had a great time except for the downpour we received in the morning on the way there and the first few hours. The Blazer about got pressure washed going in...
...and then the parking lot was nothing but Kentucky clay mud getting chewed up by all the morons in minivans, cars, and trucks on street tires.

Wouldn't call it mudding but lots of guys in "real 4x4's" were having trouble while we just locked the hubs, put it in 4hi, and squished and slid just a little over to a good parking spot. Our lunch went almost two hours due to us laughing our asses off watching folks have trouble coming and going.:D
When it was time to go we just waited for the mooks to get out of the way and went. No troubles.

I do seem to have some sort of a mystery oil leak. Have what appears to be engine oil coming down the bottom of the trans.
