I have a K5!

Was a good looking Blazer man.

How's the Taco treating you?

New girlfriend met The Blazer a few hours ago. Called it a beast and thought it was cool. REALLY liked the idea of taking the top off.
We had a TORRENTIAL downpour all day yesterday so I think I'm going to wait to take the top off until I actually have a soft top. The weather here hasn't stayed dry long enough to make having the top off completely be a PITA regularly.

If I could find a factory rear roll bar I might consider something like that. Should have enough scratch for a Softopper within a month or two though.

It was just an Idea for you. I'm trying to figure out what my final Govt funded modifications will be...

Yeah, I hear ya, and thanks.

I do need to start looking for a rear roll bar...

Taco is running well and giving me 17+ mpg. Kinda fun to drive too.

Just a thought I was pondering a while back. Instead of getting a soft top complete, I thought of chopping up a hard top. I figured on cutting away everything except the bottom rails and arch over the roof and having a canvas made kinda like a fast back. That way, the roof can be removed and just put the other one on. No holes in the body! Make any sense to anyone? The structure itself would be kinda flimsy, but once in place, good for the season. I wish I could draw online, but still stunted on computer usage.:dunno:

Somebody made one of those. I forget who.

I think I'm going to go full soft top and just be rid of the hard top forever.

That's why the yellow Blazer had the soft top on it...and why I have an extra top sitting in my yard.

Still loving your Diesel!!

I just can't see much of an advantage for the hard top and it's associated stuff if I can go soft top.

Thanks!

If I get motivated this afternoon an ORD swaybar disconnect kit is going on.

Yeah, the only real advantage I can think of is security, I keep alot of stuff in my truck, and insulation value in the winter, it's cold for a long time here!

No winter driving here and I mainly just use it for cruising and fun. The USMC and NRA stickers are usually my security.

Well, thanks to Shady I have a new-to-me and lower mileage and wear and tear set of leaf springs. Now to pretty them up a bit.
