Ooooh, that sucks.
That's an option as well.
I'm definately in. The thread name is "I have a wheelin itch" and I do.
May have my brother and/or wife riding along. I'll have her make something that everyone can eat. Maybe a pasta salad. I can also bring my camping grill.
Pasta salad is always good too. I was thinking of making chili. I have one of those cooler/hotbox things that plugs into a lighter socket. Works pretty good.
What is your first name? It's Matt or Mike, right?
I'm in to bring anything that doesn't spoil. Chips or something.
That works, Rich.
So, right now it's....
Me, chili and a grill to cook on
mpio, pasta salad
Glen, burgers or dogs or both
xeno is out and just waiting to hear from Glen...
I will find out what the club members plan on bringing as well and let you guys know so that you don't have to find it on that sight.
Here is a link to the thread at FTR if you want to check it out...
So I just got my truck on the ground. It is quite a bit higher than I anticipated. My front driveshaft had actually separated and I didn't realize until I put her back down. I don't think it is safe to drive with it installed. I don't really have a solution thought out at this point. I will be pulling it for now, and just running 2wd.... It is starting to look like I may be a ride along.
Same problem Adam had. Those ORD springs must sit a bit higher than a standard off the shelf 4" lift spring. Pull the shaft and flex the suspension out and take measurements from pinion to t-case flange at compression and extension as well as ride height.
I have an extra shaft. I'm going to try the square shaft route. Are you going to have any passengers?
No passengers at this time. You can ride along with me if your truck isn't ready.
Yeah, with no front shocks and no front driveshaft at this point if I could plan on that it would be great. I don't have much time between now and then to put into my truck so it's doubtful it will be ready. I'm going to try though.
Mark me down as there! What time does this shindig start? I can bring a cooler with burgers and dogs. How many do I need to bring?
The UMass car show is on the 20th. Looks like I'm going to be spending a lot of time in my truck that weekend...
Alright, you're in!
It's easily a couple hour ride out there. I usually leave Carver about 7ish. We haven't decided on a meeting spot and time yet so that will be nailed down soon. Also not sure on the burger/dog quantity yet... stay tuned.
I know your truck is pretty well built, any problem cruising the highways at 65-70mph? My truck likes to cruise in that range. And EZ pass, yes or no?
My truck has no problems on the highway. I can cruise at 85 the whole way if you wanted
Yes I have ez pass.
Sweet, that just makes the trip smoother.
As far as quantities there are 8 actual people on the list, not accounting for passengers. If they sell packages of burgers and dogs in the 12-20 range that would be about right leaving only a few to bring home.
Are you in for burgers AND dogs or what? If you want to get those I can have someone else procure buns?
Ya I'll get the meat as long as I can put it between someone else's buns...
Hey, now! This isn't a trip to Provincetown.
I will update the FTR thread, thanks!
My truck wouldn't start last night which freaked me out. Chases it down to an ignition module this morning. All set now. Probably guna bring a spare with me hahaha.
Man do I miss my truck/wheelin!
Good idea. I just had to replace my dist with a reman Napa unit, came complete with a new module. Still gonna throw the old one(s) in the toolbox.
