Dang, not having a single wrenching buddy into old classic chevy trucks and muscle cars just about sucks. I’m need to find another project guy or something. So I can go hang out, get out of my head space for a bit from time to time, or have a buddy visit who is willing to help wrench a little too. Weld, fabticate, learn. Being 100% solo and in a Much weakened state about sucks ass.

Rob, I'm in the same boat. I work so much it's hard to connect with anyone new, and once @bix (Nick) moved to BC I've been tinkering solo. It's kinda sucky...

Wrenching is better when you have somebody harassing you and helping. Like the others have said, if was closer I'd come hang and help for a few hours.

Somehow I have managed to live my whole life without any gearhead friends close. I have a few, but they are scattered around the country. Much like ck5ers. Any time spent is hanging out and catching up. Not turning wrenches. It sucks.

I've got many, Larry and our friends Bill and Ian too. We can get a lot done if we get into the zone. Kick the tunes on and get to work zone. There is still harassment, but it's helping get stuff done. But since we are all local and within 20 minutes from each other we don't spend much time catching up.

It is pretty nice. But I still do a good amount at my house alone too. Larry's in full Dad mode now so his free time to just have wrench sessions has to be very scheduled and planned well ahead of time. So he does a lot alone when he has free time which is like after the wife and kid hits the sack. Ian has a crazy work schedule and kids too, so he's in the same boat as Larry. Bill is a bachelor with no kids, so lately it's been me and him working together on my bumper project since our schedules line up better.

Any CK5'ers in SoCal that can lend a hand?

How far are Robert and Steve?
Or Brent?
Also Irish?

I can come when we can have a wrenching party I will drive down and spend a couple of days but you need someone closer so you can at least one day a week get together and some stuff done.

My best friend is willing to help hold some stuff or move big objects, but mainly just drinks beer and BS's while I work lol. And like said above, I've actually never really had a competent regular wrenching buddy.

Most of the guys I know near me that do build or work on stuff are the type that your really can't have fun working with.
So I never try.
Either it's yours and they argue with you to do stuff their way. Or it's theirs and the first thing that goes wrong it's your fault, even if it's something you never touched lol..

So I wrench alone too :frown.

I'd surely come help you out, but the 30+hr drive one way makes that a little tough lol.

Look for car or truck clubs in your area. Contact a couple and see about hanging with them when they get together. If you make one or two buddies out of it even without joining the club, it'd be worth it.

Yeah, where did you end up moving to Rob?
I can’t find the time to work on anything anymore.
My truck sits, quad sits, garage is a mess, grass is dying, water damage to house not repaired, and the list goes on.

But, if there was a weekend where more than 3 donkeys can get together and attack this thing, well count me in. Like July 13/14 or 27/28. I can’t do the holiday weekend or 20/21 (anniversary). Those are the soonest dates I can get out there.

I'm a good wrenching buddy, plus you get a beer drinking buddy at the same time free of charge, but i'm 2000 miles away. :D

I have 1 good "gear head" I wrench wit... Problem is... When we get together... Nothing gets done!!
I had a buddy, RIP, That we did alot together. We were on the same page and thought alike. Problem was when we set out to do a project we ended fu©king off instead. Blowing stuff up, playing on ATVs, or old beater cars, mudding, racing, burnouts, lawnmower wheelies for distance, or even some things I can't even mention here.... Pretty much anything but the wrenching goal we set out to do. Lol! Great times. RIP buddy, I miss ya!

Thats him in my avatar
I always tell him "pay attention, when I'm gone this truck will be yours and you'll have to fix it" lol

I'm in La Mirada now. that's where my buddies shop is where my equipment is supporting work effort and production at, and where my camper rig is. basically home is where my truck is. so am I homeless??? doesn't really feel like it when I have a good enough roof and I save money every month. At least for now. I Want to stay here and bank as Much as I Possibly can. for as long as possible. I have too many goals but getting back to absolute Zero debt owed is a huge one. then back Legal on All my cars. registration is behind on a few. then getting my K5 running and driving and Out of my buddies shop. I know he would appreciate that.
