Now that I have your attention.

I'm in need of some photos guys. I plan to make a large order tomorrow through Classic Parts or LMC for a majority of my interior parts for my restore project.

Things I know I'm going with:
1. A carpet kit from Classic Parts, good price and have heard good quality.

2. CP again, for their vinyl/foam repro OEM style dash. I believe this to be a good one as far as aftermarket choices go.

Here's where I need help with photos. I am trying to decide if I want to go with the stock silverado interior trim, or if I want to go with the billet aluminum trim pieces for a "custom" aftermarket interior look. Pieces include: door panel trim, dash panel trim (with AC vents), and the guage bezel trim piece.

Please post pics of your billet interior parts and/or your aftermarket dashes and door panels. Comments about how you feel on quality, fit and finish, you name it.

If you see a flaw in my plan, let me know. Thanks.:thumb:

Pad pic time.

Details my friend..... is this an original interior still in good shape or are there aftermarket pieces I'm looking at?

I'm looking for pics of aftermarket parts, being both the aftermarket silverado trim/door panels/dash that LMC or Classic Parts sells, and also photos of the aftermarket billet aluminum trim pieces to see if I even like that look or not, can't decide.

Just my take on your truck Bob but its flashy new and shiny, unless you have something against billet pieces that is what I think I would go with.

On my crew cab I am leaving the stock trim, but on the blazer its going billet on the inside as much as possible.

Let us know how the dash pad fits on there, I am in need of 2 eventually

The only thing that bothers me about the billet pieces is that they are "satin non glare".... what the heck does that mean? I would want them fully polished out. I'd like to see what some of this stuff looks like actually installed in a truck in the sunlight.

I had thought about ordering the cheapest part I could find and polishing it too. When I get them I want them polished.

As far as pads go, you get what you pay for. I used Classic Industries for a slate gray dash pad, I believe it was like $200. It was a full replacement made of injected molded foam or something.

It blew, so I had them take it back. I ordered slate gray and damned if that thing didn't come out the box green? Shipping back would have cost me $100, so I was able to get them to comp return shipping just bc the color was so badly off from what was advertised.

In my opinion, the best replacement dash is a fully intact factory. But get ready to shell for it.

As far as interior bits go, stick with stock Silverado. I replaced my carpet with dark grey from LMC, it's pretty good. I replaced the arm rests and map pockets with black pieces and got a full set of custom cut Lloyd mats in black, including a cargo mat. Keeping the interior clean and stock looking is, IMO, the cleanest route to go, just because EVERYONE modifies the hell out of these things and gets them looking totally cheesy.

I'm leaning hard at this point at just going with the stock Silverado styling. It looks like it's the cheapest route too.

So the $300 dollar dash from LMC or Classic Parts is no good or what? I was planing on having everything ordered already, but today was hectic.

Thank you for those pics, I can see that the "non glare" does not have much of a shine unfortunately. Looks like I'll be going with a stock Silverado themed interior.

Just added everything up $1819.09. That does not include doing anything with the seats, center console, and rear side panels.
I am going all black interior BTW. I plan to place the order in the morning when CP and LMC opens up.

I ordered the door trim from LMC and sent it back because it didn't match the factory trim. I thought it looked really cheap. Ended up finding all nos trim for mine. The dash pad is the OEM from Classic Parts, the carpet come from ACC. Made new rear side panel to match the factory ones. Then found the factory fabric and had the seats recovered.

Teck, that thing will be one of a kind when its done. Almost a 100pt show car short of the lift and tires.

RJF, I'll snap a few pics of my interior tonight so you can see what I did. Stock Silverado.

I have the factory slate grey, but like I said before, I decided to go with a few black accents since LMC makes you paint to match, which I wasn't gonna do.

The rear side panels are tough to find, and pricey like factory dash's in good shape. It may almost be more feasible to make a pair, or have an upholstery shop do it.

Teck, you're my K5 hero.:haha: Ok, so you didn't like LMC's door trim. Which part number did you order?

At the top of the page is what I was going to order, factory style trim to go on OEM panels.

Their "replacement door trim kits" are clearly not factory style and look cheese ball.

Do you still have a connection on the NOS trim?

I just placed a big order with Classic Parts. I went ahead with a pair of NOS deluxe door panels. I think that was a good move. I did however go with the reproduction vinyl/foam dash. I hope it's a good one, because I'd hate to have to return it and fork over $500 for an NOS dash.:doah:

Anybody else get the "holiday10" 10% off coupon from CP yesterday? That popped up from them in my email box yesterday and I was like....:woot:

So I'm supposed to go look at these seats today. Looks like a good catch. They are out of a 2002 Trans Am, would these be a mother to adapt to my K5 or fairly easy? I'm thinking the rear seat should be about the right width.

I like those seats Bob in an all black interior those will look, bitchen as in bitchen camero!

2 problems....

1. The rear seat is not an assembly. It comes with the two cushions that are seperate, and one back rest that has no brackets or anything. I would have to build some sort of frame for it.

2. He wasn't as negotiable as I'd hoped for.:D

Blows me away how much people want for stock seats anymore.

I hope you end up with em. I would love to see them in your blazer

I had order the repo from Classic Parts, but it was on back order, so I called and told them I found an OEM for $400.00 and they match the price. So I cann't tell how the repo one is.

Got some of the nos parts from http://www.cheyennepickup.com/ , but you will have to call them to see what they have avalible.

Classic Parts has some nos parts
Classic Industriesalso has some nos parts. http://www.classicindustries.com/
