If The Motor Stalled By Covering The Carb You Shouldnt Have A Vacuum Leak Then, also When U Sprayed W/wd40 You Would Have Got An Increse In Rpm Not A Drop. Give Me A Little Bit Ill Ask 1 Of Mechanics Here & Get Back To You.
OK MECHANIC SAID RECHECK TIMING (COLD TIME IT) MAKE SURE UR ACURATE IN DOING THIS ALSO AGREED WITH OTHER GUY ABOUT POWERVALVE. SAID HOLLEYS ARE NOTORIOUS FOR THEM, IT ONLY TAKES ONE BACKFIRE AND THE VALVE IS SHOT. HOPE THIS HELPS.
Prior to the swap I checked the timing and found that the harmonic balancer had shifted. I can't use the timing light as a guide as of right now. I know that a search said to just remove the spark plugs and feel for the compression stroke. Is there any other way to to accurately determine TDC? After I find TDC I'll adjust the balancer.

THE BEST WAY IS COLD TIME IT USE 2 PEOPLE ONE TAPPING THE KEY ONE W/FINGER IN #1 plug hole youll know when its at top dead center then when putting the dist. u will have tokind of turn it as you push it down. there should be some kind of notch at the base of dist. and a mark on the hole edge. if this is done correctly it should start. try having other guy move dist adv. & retard until start. you harmonic balancer problem you will need to replace then u can attempt to time it with a light. good luck anymore ? let me know.
