Now i have dumped a lot of money in boats over the years but i think my 1990 suburban is going to give them a run for the money.
What started as a cheap beater has kind of gotten away from me. should have just parted it out when i blew a head gasket but what the hell a nice new 383 really woke this bad boy up. then the steering is a little loose, well rebuilding the front axle and crossover steering with hydraulic assist made that much better. dammn better get the air conditioning working right, oh yeah lot nicer to drive , hell now i need the kick ass stereo. can't forget a new steering column, while thats out its easy to put in the digital dash. etc etc

so i still have the beater just not cheap. but damn its fun to drive and in a way i actually think its worth it. hell its probably worth $5k now :)

is that a old go-rihno skid plate under the front ? if so do you have the rear on the 14ff ? if so any pics ?

i have a front for a 60 but no rear . thinking of making one to complete the look for one of my truck builds .

If you only have the one truck, consider yourself lucky....I've doubled my costs by having two wheelers, lol.

This is a seriously nice Sub.
You'd get $5,000 all day long.
Always liked the Suburbans.
They are a kickass bug out vehicle.
Something about them lifted.. they look rad.

I second this.

Just got a Yamaha TTR 125 and setting it up with racks, a frame cradle, etc for hunting season (October).
You can drop way more than 3 grand into a stupid 125cc pit bike.

My Samurai was SUPPOSED to be a $2000 beater...I'm now at 10 grand into it, and still climbing as I'm setting it up on full widths and links, lol

The K5 is getting tons, a 489 big block and 4L80E this weekend....it's a never ending nightmare..

It's funny.
We used to laugh at Sammies at Hollister Hills wheeling our full size rigs and jeeps.
Then one day, we watched a guy rail a stock Samurai around the obstacle course;
Up the rock garden at full throttle, over the log trap, thru the mud pit, donuts, over the jumps, back thru the log trap, more donuts.
I think he just ran out of adreneline.
Because after half an hour of desperately trying to destroy his $1,500 Sammie he just stopped and came back to camp and drink beer with us.
Those damn things were built tough, if low, right from the factory.

You got the may as well bug just like the rest of us. Lol. While I’m doing this it’ll be just as easy to upgrade that. But this will need something over here to make that work better. Haha. But the fun you have is worth every dollar.
