Ignition cylinder removal (steering column help)

That plug is for a manual shift clutch pedal switch. On automatics there is a copper jumper across the terminals.
 
We already figured that part out, but thanks for making the suggestion.

Now my next question, I can't seem to remember how the cancelling cam for the turn signals goes back in. Is there a specific way?

It is all one piece with the turn signal switch. There are a couple of pieces that commonly break not allowing the turn signal to return to off once you've made your turn.
 
Ok I think I have it all back together, I tried to do a test drive last night but my carburetor said other wise and the battery drained before I got down the driveway.

Another thing I seemed to miss when I had it all put back together is now the shifter moves even with the key out in the lock position. :doah:
 
Ok, I took apart my column again today to try and figure out how the shifter locks with the key in the lock position.

I think the lock pin goes onto the actuator switch thats connected to the rod. I see there is a notch in the shifter housing for the switch to ride in, I think if it's in those and the pin is in that will lock?

Also, how does the lock pin connect to the actuator switch? I believe it's connected how I have in this attached picture.

Bumb, going to head out side in a bit and see If I can't seem to figure this out. Can anybody shed some insight?




I can't seem to figure this out, either the shifter locks and the actuator rod doesn't or the actuator rod works but the shifter doesn't lock with the key in the lock position and out. This seems so simple I just can't find the correct combination. :angry1:

I figured it out, I wasn't getting the actuator switch pushed all the way up the housing to meet on the sector right...:doah: I took the sector and cylinder out and shoved the switch up then lined the sector and cylinder up with that. :woot:

The simpleness things seem to kick my butt.
