IH scout 800

I live in franklin county about 15 miles south of the Madison county line. Been looking for land in Madison county so I can move closer to work and farther out in the mountains at the same time.

Got one mounted. Been a long time since I've used hammers and bars to put a tire on. I may dismount the rest so I can clean the wheels but I'll probly take them to a tire shop to mount.

Got home and decided to work on mounting the others. Got two more done. Need a valve stem to air one up. Got the tire off the last wheel and for some reason it had a tube and the valve stem hole was drilled out to fit the tubes valve stem. Going to have to weld the hole up and drill a new one.

Threw a couple on to see how they look. Can't wait to go try them out.

Had lots of rain this week, decided to go try out my new tires. First thoughts, I should of bought some of these years ago. Road manners completely suck but off road they are better than any tire I've ever owned.

Peace of mind not worrying about sidewall damage much and the extra inch of diff clearance made a bigger difference than I ever would have thought. Cleared several rocks that I knew I was gonna hit. And as far as traction goes, I was pretty amazed at some of the stuff I idled over and the mud hole we clawed through was pretty awesome. These throw fist sized clumps instead of a muddy spray.

As far as pics go it was just me and my wife so no action shots but I got a few of the trail. Only damage was a lost retaining clip on my shift linkage making it a pain to shift and there was that tree that entered my crumple zone.

You can see in the last pic the tree busted most of the spot welds holding the corner piece on but I have a plan for those pretty soon. Later when I have more time I'll post the pics of all the waterfalls we looked at.
