A good set of heads, set up by a great head porter guy. Before you build, talk to an engine builder, and give him your application use. Gear ratio, transfer case hi and lo range, trans type, tire size, rpm range This way parts can be matched for the application, and it will all work much better.

An engine is nothing more than a glorified air compressor. Therefore the more air you get into the engine and out efficiently the more power it will make. With that being said good cylinder heads are the best place to start.
