Ok so going to work on the Brakes on the K5 jack up the left rear getting ready to jack up the other side and pushed on the tire and it just spins but you han hear like a ratching sound.
So I get the other side up and on stands they both spin in the same direction but if you try and stop one side the other still move a little faster than the other is this normal or not? Oh yea this is a no spin Detroit in a 14bolt
rear.

Thanks,

Do a burnout on some dirt. Thats always fun. /forums/images/graemlins/histerical.gif If both tires spin, no worries. /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif

thats how you check to see if it is working.mine is broke on one side the teeth busted all off and i have to get parts for it if they will sell the individual pieces to me.sounds like it is working good.

Cool thanks guys,
I just thought with my luck that was broken also.
good to know it's still working the way it should

The Detroit will not stay locked with zero input torque. Spin it one way and listen to it ratchet, then try to spin it the other way and it will instantly lock.
