Is there a cheaper ball flange kit?

Summit has one that uses the normal 3 hole flange, can't find it right now

I am sure some one else has seen it, I will find it when I get home if no one else has

Jegs has the clamp style for like $30. I was thinking about trying them.

Check with your local muffler shop, around here my local shop has them in stock and they are way cheaper than buying them online.

just put a set of hedmans with that ball and socket joint on them, they work slick and dont seem to really leak at all.

Sounds good to me, but would the flowmaster set be worth the extra 20 bucks? Im trying to make this a permanent, done-right exhaust

Does anybody have experience with these? I'm thinking about trying them. It's cheaper than a set of aluminum or copper gaskets and the regular reducers. If it can be taken apart, that's even better. It could always be gooped with copper RTV just like the regular reducers always end up, right?

I can't get mine to not leak at all, I'm pretty pissed about that. I read up on them and they seemed like the way to go, and they're leaking. Drives me nuts because I just had the whole exhaust done and the collectors are leaking

I just use regular 3 bolt flanges with aluminum gaskets and they last for years. They key is you want the good quality welded thicker collectors, I like Hooker, but maybe elites have welded flanges too, or something. But all the crappy folded over pipe thin plate 3 bolt flange collectors are junk.

I had no problems with the regular flange and the aluminum gaskets - until I raised the transfer case. The exhaust was done when the case was down 1". Yes, I can just cut the standard collectors off and put more of the same on (at the new angle), but knowing me I'll probably change who-knows-what in the future. I'm thinking the ball one will be more forgiving.

I would probably just cut them 90% of the way through (leave the part that is on the tension "side") and reweld them. It's free and probably quicker too.

I haven't ruled this out. For what I'm planning, I would be replacing the pipe right behind there and those mild steel collectors are more than 10 salty winters old. So it could be cleaner to just start with new collectors. And if so, what better time to look for something better.

I cut my collectors out of 1/4" plate, then set the exhaust up and welded around each side of the pipe. Drilled 3 holes and added a gasket between the two halves. Only been running it for ~6 months, but no leaks yet.
