Here is a local goys sweet yota. He graduated with me last year, and has been building this rig for a while. The specs are 84 yota, LS1, TH400, atlas, dana 60, 14 bolt, 3 link front and rear, 14" EW coilovers, 42's on widened h1 wheels. here are some pics

:waytogo:

If I ever had to go with anything other than a Blazer, an old Toyota pickup would definitely be the way to go, pretty much exactly like that one. Freakin' sweet!

it is pretty cool, i cant wait to see it on the trails.. we have the moon rocks, and the con that are pretty close, so it shouldn't be long.. so it should be fun..

Trick question: How does he get the motor out if it goes bad?

I havent seen the rig up in person yet.. i guess you could cut tube and pull it out.. i dont think you can drop it throu the bottom. I cant tell if he installed a hinge or something to open it up.. i'll let you know when i go and check it out this weekend

Those newer LS1/Vortec engines don't go bad.. :p:
Drop it in, Fab motor mounts, Figure out the wiring, Get it running, and your done for years to come. Uuh whats a timing light? :D  :pimp1:

(Just tube it. If the motor ever does have to come out, cut and flange the tube THEN.)

cut off wheel, port-a band, torch.... take your pick.

I count 6 very easy cuts to get the motor out, I really think with a fresh one that's not going to have to get pulled all the time it's not that big of a deal.
