Well I found a 2wd jimmy which seems clean, just not sure about it. I know from a stat page I saw on one of the blogs that officially Chevy produced 2 we'd Blazers in 1971 BUT some, roughly 1000 were actually sold in 1970. My question is what was the first year for 2wd jimmy? Does anyone have stats on the full run for GMC Jimmys?
Regards,

Numbers I can't tell you much, but have a look at the brochures for each, on the pages Dremu put together:
http://brochures.slosh.com/

2wd Jimmy is mentioned as an option in the 1971 literature. 2wd Chevy is mentioned as an option in the 1970 literature.

Hopefully someone else can chime in on numbers.

Thanks Jacob I will look at the link and information. The VIN for the truck is pointing to a 2wd truck not a K5 but I have not seen the vin plate or the truck in person, that will be Saturday.

Sean

Are you actually LOOKING for a 2WD version?

They are pretty rare, and every time I've seen one it goes for big money.... the low-rider / street truck crowd loves them.

There are plenty of ways to create a 2WD version from a more common 4x4 platform, and probably a lot cheaper than finding an original....but then again, it will also never be worth the same $$$ is a real one either.
