Jeep crash video at EJS Moab

I don't think the court could make a fair decision based on lack of knowledge. Knowledge like lower gears would have prevented this.
Being in 4lo would have prevented this. Then he wouldn’t of have had to go full throttle to get over the obstacle. Plus it would have given bystanders a chance to react to get out of his way.

When the Jeep's top speed might be 2.6 mph...I don't see this going down the same way. Hi range and "Drive", is what appeared to be selected though.

Right you spend $$$$$ fora Ruby, with the bad ass low range ratio, you you stay in hi range......???

Not appeared, was. My ‘16 Unlimited (yeah flame me all you want! :D) won’t go anywhere near that speed in Lo with it floored ... unless they sped up the video.

EDIT: And for the record I have no LED lights, stickers or bolt-ons. Just sayin’.

The JK Rubicons were speed limited to 10 mph in low range. Which I thought was nutty when my nephew in his couldn't keep up with us between trail obstacles with his JK Ruby. We got to camp that night and I was giving him an endless amount of shit over his slow pace and he responded he couldn't go any faster because the owner's manual said that's the way it works. So we told him when we got done crawling I'd tell him when to kick it back into high range so he could keep up.

I'm certain the JL has similar or more nanny's holding it back. But the way that Jeep launched off the rock it could not have been in 4 low. It was moving too fast. Which brings back the whole point of a lack of experience and understanding what to do in that situation. Why was it not in 4low? In low range, the front diff lock is enabled and could have allowed more traction and better control. There's a whole lot of Monday morning quarterbacking going on, myself included, but if the driver had a better understanding of how the Jeep worked and when to use the cool options they come with the accident could have been prevented.

That being said, I can see no blame for the bystander. She had an expectation of safety by being well outside the path of where the Jeep should have gone. Yes, she took on some risk by being out there in the first place, but she can't be to blame for the driver's lack of experience and control. This is why I prefer wheeling with my normal group of guys we go out with. I know they know what to do, I trust them and their ability. You don't have that level of trust when you have a huge group like you would at EJS. That adds to the risk but is probably why the lady was far out of the line of fire in the first place. Still falls on the nut behind the wheel in this case as far as I'm concerned.

Had the idiot used his brake it would have been prevented.

Do you go to a Motorsports event hang out in the parking lot and expect to be hit by a car because the driver drove through the guard rail across the field and then drove into the parking lot and hit you ? That is akin to what this idiot did.
Certain expectations are to be expected at events, what he did was not one of them. She was so far away from the line of travel he had to drive over to hit her. Did his brake lights ever come on ?

Agreed. Brakes would have went a long way. Even if the driver was tossed out of place and couldn't hit the brakes, there's always options like hitting reverse or turning off the ignition. But it looks like nothing was done in the video, just nail the throttle and give up after that.

He needs to own up to his mistake. I can assume he’s not because he’s being sued however shifting the blame to others is complete BS. Fk’n a$$hole.

Probably the lawyers shifting blame to the event organizers.
But holy hell. Say your sorry for the actions that happened. Have a GD soul.

If you cant come on youtube and apologize for your actions due to lawyers you need to keep your damn fool mouth shut. Idiot just showed no remorse on a worldwide platform. F this guy. I think he went off script and meant to say "I won't let ruining a ladys life by amputating her leg get in the way of my mission of more views and youtube money". What a piece of shit.

That is good to hear. Just looked at the link, sounds like a horrific ordeal for that leg from the hospital updates.
