after draining most of the fluids and packing wheel bearings I took it for a spin and it has a bad hesitation under acceleration I am thinking maybe my gas has water in it now since the tank was under water for a while or maybe the spark flugs are fouled I havent changed them yet, any other suggestions?

did you check your distributor for water??? /forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

Pull your spark plugs and do a compression check. Hydro locking an engine can bend connecting rods, break pistons and bend valves. If you have bent valves a compression test will show low or no compression in however many cylinders you have problems.

If you still suspect water in the fuel, you could use a few bottles of fuel system drier (Heet or Isoheet). This should work unless there is a LOT of water in there.

thanks, for the replies. I heard of Heet from a friend of mine, oddly enough he is from Alaska too, must be a common problem there.
thanks again
