Hey All, Listen to what happened to me on Saturday evening. I was at our local natural park with the wife, one of the kids and her friend cross country skiing (parked in a kinda secluded parking area). A great day was had by all and the sun started going down and temperatures dropped so the little ones started to get cold. So naturally we decided to leave then and there. We get to the Jimmy and all is fine.We drive home and all is still fine. Now it is time to drive the kids friend home so we all load up in the Jimmy and off we go,still everything is ok untill we get half way to her friends house when all of a sudden we hear and feel a big bang and the truck dips dramatically in the front....I lost my drivers side front tire and rim, it just rolled by us and kept on goin'. So to my amazement I look to my wife and say "Hey thats our tire".I was only doing about 25 mph when it happened and decided not to hit the brakes and just let the truck come to a slow and controlled stop. The truck is now riding on the rotor and we come to our stop (just my luck) a police station, so I ran in and told him what had just happened. The officer was real cool about it and asked if any body was hurt .Thank God no-one was.So I called up my best friend and asked him to come and get the family and to bring his big floor jack.So he finally shows up and off we go to pick up the proper tools necessary inorder to do the job . We get back to the truck jack her up and bent the dust shield straight behind the rotor.Luckily I had extra lug nuts at home so the truck went back together and drove like nothing ever happened.God these trucks are GREAT vehicles. Tough as nails they are. So it turns out that somebody was trying to steal my rims and probably gave up and left it at that #@&&* jerk could have killed us over a supid thing like that. Any ways I had to tell you all about it ..just to show the strength of these trucks..truely amazing.(like a rock). I still cant believe it,no dammage to the truck at all not even the rotor and the hub was not even affected. Thanks Mike 1989 GMC Jimmy 6.2L 4x4,1969 Camaro Z/28 502 C.I. B.B.C. BLOOD,SWEAT AND GEARS!
