Pulled the trigger and put a deposit down on a 2019 Polaris rzr xp4 1000. Been wanting one for years but could never justify the price. It’s how I ended up with my first blazer because I thought the $3500 entry fee would be cheaper in the long run. What an idiot I was. Hopefully pick it up in a couple of weeks.

I would get one if I ever came across a super cheap deal.

Definitely not a cheap thing to get into. But it means I’ve now got something dedicated for wheeling that I can take the family in so now I can make the blazer a little more street cruiser and a little nicer.

We have 2017 xp4 1000, a lot of fun. Super easy to drive fast. When you start out be a little more conservative till you get good feel for it.

I tend to be a pretty conservative person until my confidence builds. Probably what’s kept me alive a good portion of my life.

1st time I drove ours almost went over a cliff, was hauling ass on ridge then it was gone, oops.
I new better 2. Countless hours on trails and washes, hill climbs, dunes, all in slower less capable suspension vehicles.
The factory cages are not that sturdy, I think sxs give a lot of false confidence.
I have lost 2 friends to sxs accidents. 1 of them a seasoned wheeler and sand dragger.

The cage issue is probably the first thing I’ll address. That I’m aware of. My brother in law has one and bent the factory cage up on a simple flop. That and belts. Then sliders and skids.

You should be able to get some suspension seats, like PRP to fit the little ones. Way better then the factory stuff

I got mine, so I don't have to worry about breaking it and getting home. I don't have a property large enough to have a car hauling trailer, but sxs trailer does fit (barely). And getting a tow back to the trailer to get home is easier/faster..

Cages can be a problem if you're going stupid fast. It's not gonna save your bacon there. Low-speed whoops you may be ok. Still have damage though.

Also, I'm gonna have a small soap box here.. But I see a lot of people not wearing melon protection inside a sxs. Sure the cage 'may' keep it from crushing you but it's still gonna hurt like hell (at a minimum) bouncing your melon off one of the bars inside, w/o one. I've got a few marks on my helmet.

But they are smaller, fit into some places better, and generally travel trails much faster w/ ease over full-size rigs. I'm always surprised at how much faster they are covering ground.

Lots and lots of parts you can add to make it your own. Weather protection, storage, lights ect.. I've spent my fair share...

Have fun!

I took one of the Can Am RS 4 seaters out a few times in the mountains last summer. I really didn't like it and will not be doing the SxS thing. Loud as hell, cold, wet and muddy, yet somehow dusty too. The.gearing was stupid, doing 80+ in the thing with more to go. Good way to kill the family with a blow out, or traffic, or deer. I needed my car hauler to get it to the mountain. A Jeep would have been way more comfortable, driven home on the highway and not cost any more. I think my buddy who bought it wasted a bunch of money. To each his own I guess.

Our 2017 x4 fits on a 12' single axle trailer.
Never driven a Can Am, doesn't it have a 2 spd transfer case?

Pretty much it. I break it it’s not a big deal to get home nor do I care how long it sits. Utility trailers are cheaper than a car hauler. I can run more trails in a given time period and can run more trails in general.

I’ve never understood the lack of helmets part either. Not saying I haven’t done it riding around the deer lease but crawling? I’ve banged my head enough on the blazer crawling around to know I want one on these things.

Ain’t no high speed stuff here. Everything around here is crawling.

Dust and mud is where I ended up spending some money on mine. Windshield, roof, and doors. Seats in mine, I think, are more comfortable than most that I've sat in. But its def a preference.

Muffler ordered, buddy of mine is giving me his brand new stock high lifter arms//rear links//tie rods//hubs, just ordered the Polaris cable from hptuners, rewired the sound bar in it and power washed more of the mud from it. First trip is July 15 to hidden falls. Need to modify one of the rear seats with hold downs for the 3yo car seat. Saving up for a cage and sliders and some 32’s with bead locks and gear reduction. Before the safety police get me, the kids will be in their car seat and booster seat, I’m mainly sticking to park roads and green trails. Not willing to push my luck. Don’t wanna break my machine or family on the first ride haha.IMG_0328.jpeg
