Justin V's daily junk

Oh boy, intake gaskets. You must be having all the fun. Hope you got Fel-Pro gaskets. Might as well change the valve cover gaskets out while you got it torn down that far. As you know, doing the valve covers any other time just isn't as easy. If you got the right kit, it should have came with them.

Keeping an eye on the progress as I'll have to probably do the same eventually on the control arms. Doing ball joints too?

Ball joints are fresh-er...

Probably 2 years old...

I have the updated felpro kit coming.

Also opted to get a MPFI conversion spider since MAW. This truck is in remarkably good shape despite the mileage and apparent lack of maintenance by previous owners...

It had original tune up parts on it when I got it at 151K...

Every time I open something up, it becomes apparent that I am the first to do so....

As such, 200K and first intake job. MAW do the spider too.

Looks clapped in to me

Sweet. You'll like the mpfi conversion. Better throttle response and better fuel economy.

I need to check the same stuff on the front of my daily as well. I keep getting something that resembles death wobble, which is very odd for a rack & pinion front end.

After work yesterday I pulled the valve covers and then hauled those, the intake pieces, and the control arms to the pressure washer (car wash) to clean up. Came back and started on body mounts. I broke one body mount bolt on the driver's side, the one directly behind the front wheel. All the years of road splash had nearly rusted the bolt clean through...

Luckily for me, it broke off right at the head, so once I lifted the body and pulled the bushing, I was able to vise grip the rest of the bolt right out.

Getting back at it today...

I have the same pressure washer as you! But if you want a good cleaner/degreaser try oil eater. We use it all the time and the stuff works great. Just don’t use it with simple green because it makes jello... lol
