Anybody know what a stock '79 K10 with a 350 weighs ?
Not sure, but it should be posted on the inside of the drivers door opening. Should be on a metal plate by the door striker.
Short or long bed?
Long bed should weigh around 4400 lbs.
How about a short bed? /forums/images/icons/confused.gif
Not real sure but I would guess it could be around or less than 500 lbs. difference lower than a long bed.
I figured these trucks were heavier than that. Thanks for the info.

This wood be the GROSS vhicle weight.
I would guess a 350 is about 300-400lbs, if you
put it the bed, the truck and 350 should weight
about 4000lbs. +/-500
I weighed my truck way back and it was 6036 lbs. That was with 454,TH400,205,D44,14FF,38's and me. Now it's even fatter because of the D60,44's and me! /forums/images/icons/shocked.gif
my blazer weight 5280 the last time i checked
hope this helped!!
Before I put the 454 in my Blazer, it weighed 5400 pounds. That was also with a soft top and 39.5's.
It's a short bed.
mine ways 5100 lbs.... for now...
My longbox 84K10 with a 350/700R4/NP208 and ten bolts weighs 4420 pounds with a quarter tank of petrol and no spare tire. It's also got a 90lb bed mat in the bed.
My friend's shortbox only weighed 150lbs less than mine. I don't remember what he had in it/on it.
This was weighed on a set of scales at a gravel pit so it may not be all that accurate.
Hopefully this is close enough for your purposes.
Thanks for all the responses guys. I think I can come up with a rough guestimate now. /forums/images/icons/cool.gif
My 1 ton long box 2 by weighs 4900 lbs empty with a half a tank of gas so I bet a shortbox 4x4 weighs at least that much.
1 ton has a heavier frame and the rear end weighs over twice what a 1/2 ton rear does...
