K30 Crew cab wrecker

General purpose truck. Daily driver, medium trails, tow rig. Simple, capable, and reliable are the main factors.
Yea the 20 gallon fuel cell looks MUCH nicer than the old step tank.

Dropped the truck off at a friends place to get the air intake plumbed up since I don't have the tools to mess with aluminum. Pipe for the turbo-intercooler is tacked together, building the intercooler-intake pipe and weld it all up next week.

Bump! What's the progress on this and the plan with your move?

Intake plumbing from turbo-intercooler is complete, intercooler-intake needs 1 more weld taken care of (been a low priority). Will be completed by the end of march.

I've got a trip down to Texas next week to drop the tools off at the property, then load the crew cab onto the trailer when I get back to Utah. Might have to bring the crew cab down with just it as the cargo making for 3 trips total.

The large amount of unplanned expenses this month hasn't helped haha.

Quick trip from Utah to Texas. Dropped off the crew cab at the lake property. Currently there is no road access so unloaded the truck on the pavement then took the dirt trail that runs behind my property. Knocked a few branches outta the way, run over a bunch of cactus, and it's there haha.

That suspension is way too soft right now, plus the axle is sitting too far forward for the stock steering to handle it. Barely able to turn left.

Been debating this for a long time, but looks like my needs have shifted permanently in a way that this truck would struggle to achieve without some massive financial changes to it's build. So, it's getting torn apart/sold off.

I knew once you got the hd this was going to happen

Yep, it really is that much better of a tow rig which is what I need. Has overdrive, far stronger frame, brakes, more leg room. Plus the frame is long enough it can become a crew cab, have the wrecker mast, and still pull the toy hauler without contact issues.
