Not an offroad build yet. Went to the pick and pull and scored a tilt column. I wanted to get the stock column wiring working first. Had to replace the turn signal switch, and solder on a new conector on the body side of the harness. Someone had made a flat spring for the turn signal switch out of a jig saw blade. Some real booty fab.
I replaced all the dash lights. I have to troubleshoot a cel code 13/44. Easy enough, new 02 sensor and check for vacumn leaks. Otherwise the truck is super solid. It has most of its factory charm, not a lot has been rigged other than the turnsignal switch and wiring. It has two new fuel pumps, and the dual tank switch works. All the lights work, horn, interior light, what did not work the night I bought it is now functional.
The guy I bought it from installed a new $$$dash pad(not a cover) TPS,map sensor,Egr, belts, hoses, muffler, new nitto highway tires, new class 5 hitch, trailer brake controller. He was a real nice guy, and I paid him $2600 for the truck.
I have had 2 k5's, and 2 CUCCV ton trucks. I have most of the parts to build it. So far I have been loading the bed with all of the tools and home repair parts that I keep in my shop. I have 3 rental houses in 2 different states. I had been looking for a service bed to build a trailer out of so I could have everything on hand when I had to do repairs at one of the houses. I know that building the truck for the life I wish I had is unrealistic. My k5 lives with Bryan because it is worthless here.
Anyway. If I build it, it will be 37's, crossover (not highsteer), swaybar disco's, 52's, full skid, clock the 205, ladder rack, winch bumper, 3x3 square tube rockers, shackle flip in the rear, locker in rear only, york onboard air, oldschool linkarc on board welder.
I have everyting at the shop, except no time, and a set of 52" springs. I will start a build thread if and when.
